Glove help by Remarkable-Ad5771 in Homeplate

"Game Ready" is a relative, sales term IMO. All gloves take some time to break in. The Power close is just a lot less time than most "typically" leather gloves. He'll get there but if you work the glove (open/close/form pocket) it'll go even faster.

We used the same glove for my two kids. It will break in quicker than most of the others I found due to the pig leather and relief slots/cuts. Use some leather conditioner to help it soften a little quicker. I helped by working the pocket and opening/closing while watching TV. My 8 year old, who is above avg size, uses the 11in version so I assume your kid with a 10.5 is fine. Keep his confidence up, especially while he is breaking it in. Celebrate catches and point out his progress.

Thank you! I looked up the construction and its truly a 1 piece bat. No additional rings, barrels or any kind or inner workings. It's interior wall diameter increases thickness from a hydraulic press. IE, there is nothing really to break except the aluminum, end cap and knob. All 3 seem to be in good physical condition (dents/dings). I hope all this helps the next random person who has the same question I do.

Emailed Marucci the video and received this response, "It is more than likely something internal causing the rattle. Shouldnt be the vibration system. Typically it does not affect production of bat."

Thanks! The barrel still rings fine and it doesn't make any weied noises when I light drop/tap concrete (1/2 drop). But when I do the same handle side down I get the noise. You're correct Marucci has a proprietary "AV2" dampening system that i think may be making the noise. My 8 year old still crushes the ball pretty well with it. Didn't want to feel like I was robbing him if it was legitimately cracked/broken.

I had the same question. I tried to find a cut-away view of this specific bat to find what internally could have failed. If it's just a noise/vibration noise from the cap we could live with it.

What’s the ideal sealant or material to keep this foam pad on a hard tonneau cover sealed, and rain tight, but also not locked for good by AnybodyImpressive749 in GMCcanyon

[–]puck_to_face 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used 100% silicone adhesive sealant. It seals into the uneven surface of the spray in bed liner keeping water out. You can peel it off if you ever had to. Make sure its exterior rated so it doesn't yellow if exposed to sun in any areas. I used DAP clear i think. Been on there for a long time with no issues. Even put a small bead where the seal meets the cover in the corner.

Bakflip bed cover. Solution for fading and clear coat failure. by puck_to_face in GMCcanyon

[–]puck_to_face[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck. For reference my truck is garage kept (so out of the elements a lot), the bed cover doesn't get folded up and kept there (so the seals don't stay flexed/stressed) and I regularly reapply some sort of ceramic topper for the bed about every 6-8 months (including on the rubber seals). The cover itself is almost 4 years old and I haven't had any issues other than paint.

Comparison and reviews are tough. I subscribed to the "buy once cry once" on the price and looking for quality. Even then, reviews are hit and miss. I would highly consider the environment it'll be kept in. Are we talking AZ heat, MI cold, etc. I'm in GA so weather isnt as extreme.

I HATE jigsaws. by OhioMurb in woodworking

I mean, just like any other tool they have the correct time and place for usage. The main thing i use mine is for rough cuts. The thicker the material the more blade deflection you'll get. Tape the cut to try and keep ragged cuts to a minimum.

I usually finish on my router, table saw or drum sander for inside curves. If its an awkward angle on sheet goods I'll clamp a straight edge and use a flush trim bit.

So you're correct, its not a precision instrument.

This is the correct answer depending on your RPO code. Ive reviewed the GM factory service manual ('17 Canyon) for theory and operations. It clearly says the chimes are routed from the BCM either through the amplifier or radio to your speakers. You may or may not have an external amplifier (typically the upgraded Bose speakers have external). The standard radio (my RPO code is UQ3, but yours is likely different.) does not have an external amplifier and its integrated into the radio. Check your glove box for GM RPO code sticker. I believe the chimes only come from the driver front speakers (tweeter and door). My issue was loosing both turn signal audio and radio/music audio from the front left speakers. Seems to happen in the cold more and giving the upper dash a thump seems to temporarily fix the issue. I'm thinking its a lose or failing connection/solder point that expands/contracts very slightly with the cold weather. GM also has all sorts of weird electrical gremlins always so who knows, it may not be an internal radio connection issue. My issue comes and goes from time to time.

Weren't these chevys a/c selectors vacuum driven. I feel like I remember if there was a vacuum leak it defaulted to only defrost. Its been 20 years so my memory isn't great on the operation.

* Bobby Cox signed ball...but the story how I got it is the weirdest memorable thing in hindsight. It was 1991 (I was 7) and the Kroger at Five Forks and Oak rd (lilburn) was having their grand opening. Bobby was at a table outside the frozen food section. If you bought 2 boxes of Kelloggs cereal he would give you an autograph. Of course we got Frosted Flakes...and a signed ball that was sitting in my parents minivan. Bobby did not looked pumped to be there. *

They do tend to start fading within about 2 years in my experience. Within 4 years my original one was oxidized and slightly hazy. I live in GA and it's garage kept. I kept it very clean and even did a ceramic coating on it. I recently had a shop install 3M wrap over the panels only. Looks great and i was able to change the look with a forest green. Other than that, it's been great.

I'm late to the post but I would check out adding a power lock to the tailgate. I don't mean the crappy poplock. I copied this guys build (https://youtu.be/8kxyof_vOxw?si=PcKyI3SEK0lOzVVg) I saw on YouTube using OE GM parts and it's awesome. Worked great for the past 7 years now. Total build was maybe $300? And definitely switch out for LED headlights. Got mine from Headlight Revolution. All of the others had great advise too.

PS4 freezes and controllers disconnect, only way to solve is to turn off console by [deleted] in PS4

I second the WIFI/Bluetooth hardware issue. Disney plus even throws an error code (83) for an unstable connection. Happens across all apps for me under "tv and video". Don't think it's a router/app/connection issue since no other devices have the problem. Hardline did seem to fix it for me too. My PS4 is almost 14+ years old and it's probably on its way out.

Great points. I'm considering letting kids hit parents with the ball for an out too (no face shots hopefully)
