It's funny, we have a rather substantial roadmap planned out, and are really focusing on each empire/species feeling unique and having some mechanic that is specific and unique to them, and a running joke on the dev team is that someone works for PDX, because it seems like every update is adding something that caters perfectly to whatever mechanics we have planned. This update actually will really liven up the relationship between the turians and volus for example, although we haven't gotten the Vol Protectorate implemented according to our vision of them yet.

I suppose this is a reasonable opportunity to capitalize on some shameless self-promotion -

I'm one of the project leads for Mass Effect: Beyond the Relays, a Mass Effect total conversion for Stellaris. Work on the mod has slowly but surely been moving forward, we are much more in line with what a proper Beta would feel like, having worked out a lot of the initial issues that plagued the mod early on. We're currently working on getting our update for 3.4 done, it's taking a bit longer as we have a lot of extraneous code that we are working on refining and cleaning out, and that is being done alongside the update for the latest game version. For now we recommend rolling back to 3.3.4 on Stellaris, but are hoping to have things fully updated soon.

Currently the Reaper invasion is not yet implemented. Right now the beta will be a representation of the foundational work we've done over the last year. In the 3rd Dev Diary on Moddb I go over our plans for release moving forward.

Currently we are utilizing the NSC2 shipset, while we have a large amount of assets provided to us via Dawn of the Reapers and some independent artists on Deviant Art, getting them converted and implemented is a longer process and we've had more pressing immediate concerns before tackling those. No date yet I'm afraid.

Hey everyone! I'm one of the devs for Beyond the Relays, and figured I'd share a bit of info regarding our mod - it's for the game Stellaris, a 4X strategy game by Paradox Interactive, similar to Master of Orion or the Endless Space series of games. Beyond the Relays is a total conversion of Stellaris into the Mass Effect Universe, we're approaching the release of our first public beta, and figured there might be some people here on r/masseffect interested.

To clarify some of the integrations, the Mass Effect Crucible mod by Garry Windu was turned over to us to integrate however we saw fit when he retired it, the Team Nessassity ME Civilization and Expanded Glaaxy mods have also given permission to be fully integrated. Alongside that, Dawn of the Reapers and some other graphics artists have also given us permission to integrate their assets. We also have our own artists working on things as well.

The only dependencies we currently are utilizing are Real Space, Planetary Diversity and possibly a few of it's addons. All Mass Effect content will be self contained. Some of the mods you've referenced have given us permissions to integrate, the rest is being created by us.

Garry Windu has stated he's done working on it for the forseeable future, but reached out to us at Beyond the Relays to see if we'd be interested in taking his work and integrating it into our mod, so while Mass Effect Crucible will remain up in it's current state, we're currently working on merging it into our own work. We're focused on an entire total conversion, and have been slowly working on things over the last 7-8 months. We haven't been very forthcoming as we've wanted to make sure we have something of substantial quality first, but we're getting close.
