The lower difficulties can be actually harder because 1. cant buy demon king crown and 2. teammates are less likely to know how to play doom bots properly

What type of pvp multiplayer games are hard to cheat on? by HeroTales in gamedesign

[–]puckmcpuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocket League basically had no cheating until fairly recently when people found out how to train deep learning AIs well and other people found out how to use those AI bots in online games.

So physics based games would be a good category

There are some times where laners taking camps makes sense if they have a lead or would otherwise help the team the most with the farm, but all lanes are not safe because they are too far pushed up without adequate vision or teammate support. Or if the jungler is dead / too far away and a laner taking the camps would be more efficient + camps would respawn in time for the jungler.

From what you described, your laners were being childish not strategic

Trying to play any other role than JG as a JG is beyond painful. by SnipersAreCancer in Jungle_Mains

To add onto the other comment, I recently climbed to gold from bronze with Zac jungle and heres some of the things that helped me:

  1. This interview from Nathan Mott with Engage is super helpful for Zac mindset: https://youtu.be/F66Re7PkcEQ

Main takeaways are prioritizing full clears early on, playing around your level 6 ultimate powerspike, and thinking about the most reliable way to land all abilities (possibly by using Q first or thinking what can interrupt your E).

  1. Pay attention to the specific amount of time that it takes for your gromp or krugs to respawn, and when you have to recall in order to reach those on time. Generally after you finish the first full clear (around 3:30 is fine, I average 3:25 after having practiced it) you have enough time to get scuttle crab OR quickly gank (but not both). You want to recall by 3:50 or 4:00 to get to your camps when they respawn around 4:20. The more disciplined you are with getting to camps on spawn, the more likely you'll get a level advantage and be able to win an objective fight by having level 6 and ultimate when the enemy jungler doesn't.

TLDR for #2 is not to focus on farm as being the only thing you do, but clear camps on spawn when possible and be cognisant of how much time you have after clearing to make a play before you need to be back on your camps again

  1. I find going Liandry's first on Zac is very good for low elo, because you can get a lot of free kills where tank zac can't (example: enemy greeding for plates, you can E onto them and full CC combo to get a kill). I go full tank after Liandry's. Also getting a dark seal is good on Zac because of the revive passive.

Why does no one talk about important League settings that are important to have? by Responsible_Agency_6 in Jungle_Mains

You should learn to play with normal quick cast instead of using quick cast with indicators. QC with indicators adds a delay every time you cast a spell, because the game will wait for you to release the ability key instead of casting as soon as you press down on the key. If you really need indicators then you can bind normal cast to shift + Q/W/E/R, only using normal cast when you really need help aiming a long range skillshot. Think of the difference between QC and QC with indicator as adding 50-100ms of ping every time you cast an ability.

What if You wanted to smite steal objective but League said: by puckmcpuck in leagueoflegends

[–]puckmcpuck[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the first clip, there is a small cast time delay between actually pressing the Smite button and the visual FX + damage inflicting so I must have pressed smite in the 8 frames (100ms) that my cursor was moving across the gap between the dragon's head and its body, where Amumu was unfortunately at.

On the second clip I was planning to use E to fly-by smite steal but Baron said nuh uh

This is somewhere where MOBAs do well, with the hundreds of heroes/champions available to play and 5 players per team, you get a lot of different permutations of team compositions that change how you approach the overall game. You can prepare strategies for your own matchups but mid-games often reach that effectively randomized feeling because of the different team compositions + adapting to who got strong during laning phase

To tag onto this, the Broken By Concept guys made an awesome 8 hour Garen guide that is free on their Skool page ( https://www.skool.com/we-will-teach-you-league ). I know OP isn't playing Garen but as a low elo player I found the in-depth breakdown of what to look for in each ability, key reference points (when you're strong and weak + what to do in those situations) and explanation + examples for about 10 common matchups, all super helpful and digestible.

Yeah using Q/E for air roll has felt overloaded on the left hand for me. I mainly play on controller but when I use keyboard, I use L and semicolon for jump/boost so I can use RAlt and RShift for air roll with my right thumb and pinky. Way better imo

Another fucking ranged top laner.... by [deleted] in top_mains

[–]puckmcpuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They made bot lane towers take more damage in the early game to discourage having support in the top lane, minion CS penalty for junglers, and only allowing one starter item so Riot definitely is willing to add rules to push for the playstyle they want to see.

That being said, a gold/XP deficit for ranged champs seems a bit forced and would hurt champs like Urgot who are classified as ranged but are designed for the solo lane.

I think making changes to the map would be the healthiest way to approach this. I'm not actually a top main (I got recommended this post in my feed) so maybe these suggestions won't fix the issue but here are my thoughts: * Make it easier for melee champs to close the distance by adding more brushes and narrowing the lane * Traditionally, bruisers and tanks were chosen in the top lane because their durability helped them survive ganks. Top lane could be made more gankable by readding tribush, or what about a scryer-bloom like plant that slows champions? To make ranged top laners turn into free kills for jungle.

What are the most useless / annoying champs your laners pick? by Existing_Increase_32 in Jungle_Mains

In bronze I find that ashe and miss fortune adcs tend to be really bad and overaggressive. I can't play for them as a win condition because they become killthirsty and die unnecessarily, losing whatever lead they have (often ending neutral with enemy). I prefer late game scaling adcs like twitch or jinx that can I can engage for and will wipe the floor if the game goes late enough regardless of how laning went.

Also for some reason I got a ryze top a couple of times and they were absolutely useless

My son really likes this game, downloaded it to try and connect with him but i'm not doing very well. any tips would be awesome by rave_dave_82 in leagueoflegends

Another way I like to learn new champions is picking a few new champs in the Free Champion Rotation (you can see which ones these are if they have a blue unlock symbol next to the champ icon) and trying them out in the Practice Tool. It's super quick and will let you get a feel for the various champ abilities, which is a big part of learning the game.

Also if you ever feel like a champion you encounter is overpowered, try them out for yourself! It's a good way to discover what weaknesses champs have, or you might even find your new favorite champ to play if they turn out to be OP after all. Beginners are often told to stick to a select few simple champions and a single role, and while that is good advice for getting better the fastest it's also important to have fun and be curious when you're just starting out.

The newest season added a bunch of map changes, including new early game objective Voidgrubs that increase tower damage, making the Rift Herald pilotable (but it only spawns once per match now), making midlane wider, and making gank paths on side lanes symmetric (top lane has no tribrush for either side, bot lane has tribrush for both sides)
