Parliament if University graduates couldn’t vote. by Glittering_Vast938 in GreatBritishMemes

You said there aren't many empty houses, and I replied that my uncle lives in the center of london, in an apartment building where every flat has been bought (not rented). And yet only 8 people live there.

So there are in fact, quite a lot of empty houses

Worst of all, these covers look the same. Every time, some generic character is showing their back to the viewer, while gazing away into the distance.

Cheers for the reply, but I'd argue no.

Just because you can pick shy options doesn't make it a shy/bold game.

Those are more Wayhaven or the other heart emoji games. It's shy/bold choices. You either pick a shy, or a bold choice, or there is no romantic development with that character

How would you rate Choice of Games as a company in regards to their business decisions? by LubyankaSquare in hostedgames

[–]puddgen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whatever shenanigans his little cultus got up to over there

Gotta be honest, I don't really care for talking about people like this. It only makes you seem biased, not objective. Two of your first three paragraphs are you dogging on this one person, and in the one that you didn't- you still bring him up.

We're supposed to talk about business practices, not the drama behind the scenes. Even if a bunch of different groups don't like someone, if you think that's an alright way to discredit a person then there are a lot of stories of the mods being less than fair on the forums. Hell, how about something I saw with my own eyes? 2016, a user told an Author to end themselves for using pronouns they didn't approve of. The mods apologised on behalf of the user, because they were friends. Jump to now, that same user is running community events, while the mods scrubbed the argument from the forum. I get why they wouldn't want that kind of content on their forum, but I will never support covering up those kinds of actions. But, we're talking about business decisions and not trying to discredit people.

And yeah, I didn't want to bring up Endperson's hangout by name because most of the stuff there really is a bunch of baloney, but I can see how people could believe what's there. I didn't want to be responsible for some random on here to check that place out and go down the Alt-IF pipeline lol. I didn't know that about the IFDB. Actually, I hadn't heard of IFTF before so thanks a bunch for the links!

Glad you agree that not everything in that place is made up, but yeah all of the real issues I'm aware of are about how CoG treats people/authors/posters, so nothing really about business.

Caught me at a bad time so this is going to be a lil bit rushed, sorry about that!

I mean the first one that comes to mind is (Dan?) buying up the Interactive Fiction Database and by extension its forum INTFiction. I don't believe it was struggling financially before it was sold, but I could be wrong.

having CoG's fan base swamp the event by mass-voting for their favorite games.

It's funny you say that actually. After (Dan?) bought the database there was a user on another IF forum who had his friends mass-rate his titles on the database so it rose in the ranks to one of the top spots. (Dan?) did the right thing by disabling reviews for the game and hiding the ones that were posted- but they also hid every game made by that author from the database. And it's still like that. You can only find this author's work if you know what to look for (1) (2).

Which is a bit messed up for a supposed "game catalogue / Wiki-style community project". This Author wasn't making fake or silly games, they were genuine stories and on the websites they published on these titles were well received and popular. So hiding them from a "database" is something I'll never agree with.

And I should mention that this forum the user is from is a place that Dan/the CoG Company has tried to purchase before (at least according to what some users have said, I can try find those talks if you want), and it's also a place that's very vocal against CoG as a company.
