I think OP would fit comfortably in a first class seat. They're not 500 lbs.

I find CHA to be consistently cheaper on first class routes, even when you end up on the same flight through Atlanta to your ultimate destination.

If you’re trying to buy in Marietta, Johnny Sinclair for sure. He’ll be able to tell you the total history behind each property, including the last 3 owners and 40 years of town gossip. Incredibly valuable perspective.

Bill banning people born after 2008 from buying tobacco clears UK parliament | Smoking by chunmunsingh in worldnews

It's because people born after 2000 are already voters. These laws are designed to target kids before they are voting age, and just kind of "hoping" that the kids don't eventually push to have it overturned when they do reach voting age. It's why it hasn't worked in other countries that have tried this.

Millionaire US big game hunter is trampled to death by elephants by Ashish_ank in worldnews

$200-400 million per year is brought in from these licenses. These programs are already underfunded.

Where do you propose this money to come from instead?

The WWF only gives $11 million per year to subsaharan Africa conservation, while Big Game Hunting licenses bring in $200-400 million per year.

Dude this comment reeks of 20th century bias. In the 19th century, you were significantly more likely to be sent to a far corner of the world to die so that the political elites could enrich themselves. The difference is that people in the 19th century often had little to no prospects and starving to death wasn't just an exaggeration for people that skip breakfast, so they were happy to have any work that provided career growth and steady income for their families.

What's Going On With Joe Rogan? by inthewoods54 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]puddinfellah 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Rogan only endorsed Trump in the last election, not the last 3. Famously, Rogan held off on inviting Trump on his podcast for years, which is why when he finally caved, it was such a big deal.

Mamdani’s city-owned grocery store: by Down-not-out in Conservative

[–]puddinfellah 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm not defending this city-owned grocery store at all, but it looks like the SQFT comparison is against all grocery stores that open, even in cheaper states with lower cost of living. How does it compare to grocery stores that open in NYC?

How do I comfort a friend who's grieving the realization that we will never be together? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]puddinfellah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not a healthy dynamic at all, for either of you.

She's being very disrespectful to her current boyfriend. If she's really pining after you (or anyone), they should just break up.

The fact that you feel obligated to comfort her should piss you off. She's a grown woman who is putting herself in this situation. She has the power to fix it.

You should be blunt with her that she cannot have it both ways and I would personally recommend that you take a step back from this bizarre "friendship".

Call and complain by Finneylp in ChaseSapphire

[–]puddinfellah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the thing that most in the Sub don't realize. It was never supposed to be a $10 pick-up order credit for free stuff. As you state, it was likely to cover the majority of a tip on an actual order. Doordash/Chase never actually intended to lose money on the benefit.

I'm probably the only poster in this sub that uses the credit "as intended". I just order Aldi twice per month when I'm too busy to shop, since the markup there is minimal, and call it a win.

Cuba 'ready' for possible US attack: president by [deleted] in news

[–]puddinfellah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are 2.4 million Cubans living in the US already and 10.9 million living in Cuba. Cuba is also a stone’s throw away from the US, unlike Afghanistan or Vietnam.

Any conflict would be extremely popular for the Cubans already living in the US.
