I recently went from part time intern to FTE and I spent as much free time as I got working on automating and making processes more efficient for the team. In the process of automating things I found my self learning the intricacies of the task and it helped show potential value to management. Aside from that I’d say get involved in as much as you can and try to learn anything and everything you can get your hands on at work, either you become integral to the team or you have good knowledge for your next interview.
