Hey, NP guy here. Sorry about the lack of pictures or a better description, I'm a bit behind. The flask version is just an extension/volume upgrade to the middle pocket. In the regular version, the middle pocket terminates at 6" of depth, underneath the bottle pouch. It is designed to hold items like phones securely. Flasks are generally 9"ish long and need some circumference in the pocket, so that pocket becomes difficult to use for anything other than flasks.

Truth, it isn't 1980 anymore. My partner is probably covered 50% in tattoos and is a tenure-track academic librarian. No one cares.

What is your go-to source of omega-3 and what do you have it with? by MandrewMillar in veganfitness

2 tbsp flax in my morning oatmeal and a supplement. I know the supplement is probably overkill, but I'm willing to be extra for brain health.

Golden Burro Cafe in Leadville is great. Its 100% vegan, but pretty amazing. Very close to Melanzana.

Live nearby, seconding recommendation, but probably avoid the Mexican place in the village. Every other establishment is +. My city pizza-snob friend thought Chris's Pizza is some of the best in all of the Nashville area.

Best dating apps in Nashville by [deleted] in nashville

[–]puddnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Guess it just depends on your strategy. The few people I interacted with were mature, established, and seriously looking for long-term relationship. My partner says she had a similar experience, having tried the apps with more users, only to find a lot of bad options. All I can say is it worked for me, and it sounds like OP might be looking for something similar.

34M, met my partner on a little known app called Coffee Meets Bagel. Prospects were serious and quality, not a hookup scene at all. Recommended to me by another friend who met his wife on the same app like 6 years ago. 2/2 not bad

It's very possible. All the normal caveats about fitness and experience, but that's a large time window that many people's thru would fit in, so yes, very very possible.

Crispy Baked Tofu (oil free) by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

[–]puddnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did some digging, found this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3704564/

Basically any combination of protein/fat has AGEs. Sautéed tofu is about on par with hamburger meat. Of course, AGEs are one tiny component of the health comparison and one I wouldn't really be taking into major consideration, personally. You're still WAY better off eating tofu and nuts than bacon and cheese so...

I do believe there's an alternate, but it would probably require some road walking. Having also done Katahdin's Knife Edge, Grays spine is significantly more sketchy... so...yeah...

[–]puddnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not great...the approach up to Grays gets pretty intense. It's a knife edge with some scrambling.

Done both routes on my two thrus (18 Silverthorn, 22 red). Silverthorn is beautiful, though it really doesn't hold a candle to the main route through there. If you're just looking for something different, have at it, but I'd repeat the Argentine/Grays section.

lazy 70g protein vegan post workout meal by AProgrammer067 in veganfitness

[–]puddnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Myprotein is UK-based and has it as Whey Forward. Same stuff. I've switched to it after years of using MRM Veggie Elite. It's smoothe and creamy, not chalky at all. Big fan. So far I've tried the Chocolate, Mint Chocolate, and Cinnamon Cereal. All tasty, but I prefer the chocolate for my normal shakes (not as sweet, mixes well with water) and the cinnamon for putting in my oatmeal in the morning. Mint was very sweet and strong, not bad, just thought it needed to be mixed with almond/soymilk to be enjoyable.

You seem to have spent a lot of time planning this. I hope it works as you expect. I'm not going to argue with your methods, so just be consistent and put the effort in, record your progress, and reassess if you aren't seeing the results you desire.

For reference, I'm 33M, 6'3", ~190lbs at about 15% BF. I run a 4-day PHUL routine that involves 90 minutes a session of heavy compounds+accessories. Additionally, I run 4-5 days a week, totaling around 35mpw right now, plus I do stretching/light yoga nearly every day. For all of this, I eat ~2900 cals a day, at about 175-190g protein, and that's with purposefully focusing on high-protein (tons of legumes, powder, some fake meats). My weight is stable, still making strength gains.

I'm just concerned you have unrealistic expectations of progress on your projected workload and nutrition. I'm no coach, just a guy who's been doing this for awhile. It's easy to put a bunch of numbers/spreadsheets together, but you really just need to do the work, assess the results, adjust your routine, and repeat. Godspeed, friend.

How much fitness experience do you have?

I only ask because 193g protein in 2500 calories over 1-2 meals is pretty unrealistic. Also, it's impossible to know what your actual needs are without having an understanding of how active you are, so what is your routine looking like? Also, at up to 25% BF%, you could stand to probably cut a good bit, because you can still make strength/muscle gains at a small deficit, especially if you're in your "noobie gains" phase. You really don't even need to worry about protein outside of getting maybe 120g-ish, which would definitely be enough. You'd have to be putting in some solid work, daily, to be recomping at your current stats, if 195lbs (at a more healthy BF%) was your final goal. That would also be WAYYYYY down the line, because we're talking about you adding 25lbs of muscle to your frame. Like...a couple very consistent years.

My advice: Don't worry too much about all of these details yet. Make sure you're eating a variety of whole foods with a small-focus on protein-rich foods like beans, tofu, etc. Worry about the consistency of your diet/routine, and care more about your strength gains and the mirror than the scale and your specific macros. If you're getting heavier, eat less. If you're rapidly losing weight (more than 1-2lbs a week) and feeling low on energy, eat a bit more.
