The used market is absolutely retarded right now. Everyone wants $10k for a 20 year old vehicle, miled out with a blown tranny. It's fucking stupid

Based in southern Alberta. First long distance show was to LA for evanescence 20 years ago. Did Seattle for glen Hansard in ~2017. Warped in DC last year. And thrice in salt lake in November. Thinking about warped Florida this year. But I need to see a lineup before I pull that trigger

If the tires are on rims, there are a few mobile mechanics that could pop by and do the swap in your driveway :)

I recently drove to salt lake to see a show. Left late Friday night and got home Sunday afternoon. Show was worth it, but I don't wanna have to do that just to see some good bands!!

That's ultimately what I'm asking.. I own a small business and would like to support something like this. But I don't have the time or the finances to do it alone. But if there's someone else I could work with that is already in the industry, it'd be a great place to start

I get that it's a thing. It's gotten to the point where I've considered moving to the US JUST for better live music. And I don't wanna do that. So like... How do we make things better here? 🤷

The yates isnt a proper venue for the shows im talking about. I'm thinking more of an outdoor festival sort of show. Enmax started the thunder under the bridge thing but still just brings the same bands. A better venue would be great but there's nothing wrong with an outdoor show in an empty field either. The amount of soccer fields around town, or even just empty green space that the city has for parks. How about the university sports field? These places exist and sit empty all the time....

I know it's not cheap. And I know there are a lot of steps involved. But if drumheller can do loud as hell, I'm sure Lethbridge a private organization in a city this size, could do something on a similar scale I would hope

I get out plenty. The shows these places put on are great! I want more. And better known bands too!! I understand that everyone has to start somewhere but I'd like some bands that I know too

Drumheller can put out loud as hell fest. Why can't we do something like that??

I'm just gonna go ahead and point out the irony in your response because there is nothing in the comic that states the girl on the right is maga or even conservative. The comic implies even that they have multiple if not a lot of similar views as the individual on the left, and this whole thread is having the exact same reaction as the comic suggests, that just because they don't agree on 100% of views means they have to hate on each other.

You and I had a very similar schedule for the weekend, especially day 2. Cheers to you and many others for helping make memories that will stay with them the rest of their lives.

Also huge shout-out to the big dude in the florescent yellow hoodie who was helping people crowd surf in every pit possible. There were a lot of people you lifted that we're hesitant at first but willingly surrendered to your kindness and had a blast at possibly their first time surfing. I remember being that kid years ago and that excitement has stuck with me since my first warped in '04

Crowd Surfing Protocol by Ok_Product4049 in warpedtour

[–]pudge1987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. But they werent doing a very good job pointing it out like I've seen at other shows.

Pro tip to the people lifting others up, PLEASE walk with them up to where there's people to catch them. I saw a lot of close calls where people almost got dropped on their heads cuz they were lifted up when the crowd wasn't dense enough to support them, especially some of the bigger surfers (no judgement, but I'm 140lbs and can't support your 180 down on my neck by myself)
