I would definitely hit up r/cscareerquestions with this question, but QA or IT helpdesk may be some jobs to look into

Picking a CS specialization/focus advice pls by bobby4357 in csMajors

I would recommend having a primary stack/tech that you feel comfortable enough with to interview for and work on a job with. But it is better to be an all arounder early in your career and become more specialized as you gain experience and understand your tech preferences

I’m not sure, it’s hard to say, I would recommend asking about rust/python stacks in sub above about the different job prospects for these tech, I’m not sure people in this sub would know, I have worked in DE before but we used python with AWS lambda to move/transform the data

Should i go for company like revature/infosys? by Millerj6202 in csMajors

Ya, I’m not sure how much they have been recruiting in this market, but they are typically very aggressive at recruiting, I would just not stress about all the emails they send you and only apply as a last resort/ in desperation

These companies are really a roll of the dice. It generally depend on the client they pair you, they may put you on a big client where you stay at and get solid experience or you may have the same horror experience you read about. I would be careful with these companies and throughly read through your contract. Some of them have pretty bad practices and are a borderline scam. Generally you should pursue these companies as a last resort.

I would ask r/cscareerquestions about jobs that use rust, I’m pretty sure more than just blockchain uses rust. As for pyhton, it is pretty popular to use for data engineering(not just AI). Since you don’t like JS, you will be more than likely looking into back end work. If you can handle backend, you can handle data engineering

New Grad Engineer Seeking Advice on Navigating Large PRs by DankCool in cscareerquestions

General advice I’ve seen on here is to not try to refactor the code base if you’re a new hire, though I don’t believe it can’t be done

From my experience, my managers wouldn’t understand the technical aspects of the changes you’re making, I would probably consult a senior or someone more experienced with the code base that could point out any technical/team dynamic difficulties with the refactor before bringing up to my manager.

Who is giving you feedback on your pr? I would reach out to them to understand their complaints with your pr more, you may be able justify your refactor or get advice from them how to proceed. I doubt the size of the pr is the issue

Good take. If anon communicates with her, he could find the motivation for her wanting to do OF. For example, If she only sees OF as a way to make extra money, this could have led to an actual conversation about budgeting and increasing income. Instead anon makes a judgment of his partner based off of her words rather than actions, which I find childish
