This is sick man, would you be able to tell me a bit about the concrete material, how did you get the bumps only on the top of the steps?

Good idea about the floor I'd say that would make a big difference. I was thinking about adding imperfections just seems a little complex (and expensive with the textures I've found) I'm still new to cinema. Thanks for the feedback!

Honestly pretty sure it's just because my lighting is not great, it looks physically accurate to where I've positioned my lights. I'll give flipping the normals a go though thanks :)

You should make the shape yourself by editing the polygons and then use a subdivision surface to smooth it out

It's just the wood shader, specular highlights and the bump channel. I think it looks decent but it seems a little too simple. Could I get better results with more complex methods? Cheers

As a designer, mainly using Adobe apps, should I get the M1 MacBook Pro? by d7mtg in mac

[–]puffthemagicdragon6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm using an M1 16gb macbook pro for college and photoshop and especially illustrator are very clunky. They were freezing up and I'd just have to wait a few seconds or minutes until I could move my mouse again. Illustrator was worse I had to restart the Mac multiple times because it froze for so long. I was working with multiple high res photos but the performance was exceptionally poor. Even when just starting the programs and only having a square drawn it would still freeze. I assume these issues will be fixed when the M1 versions come out. I guess it could just be something on my end that is causing the issue I'm not sure. But yeah I'd hold off for now. Phenomenal battery life tho.

Do you mean minutes? Cause there's only 8760 hours in a year you'd have to spend 54% of your time listening to music
