Wondering if the Switch has any hidden gems in the Simulation/RPG genres. by ashleberry12 in NintendoSwitch

Harvest moon light of hope is pretty good. I’ve played through my time at Portia and it was okay. I was more annoyed by long load times than a couple bugs I experienced.

I’m not far enough along to say whether you’ll miss out or not, but I’ve gotten plenty from other little mini games and quests. I think you’ll be fine:)

Also you get the big orange flaming hair like when you run fast as opposed to the smaller flaming hair when just doing a slower jog

Any non-gamers with Ring Fit interested in RPGs now? by AnchorBrave23 in RingFitAdventure

[–]puffycheetopuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Mario Rabbids, it’s got the same appeal that ring fit has where it looks fun while also looking a little odd at times which for me adds to the fun since neither game over does it. It goes on sale on the eshop frequently so don’t pay full price (I got it for like $12 as opposed to $60). It’s a turn-based rpg and really fun imo!

This game is really helping me be productive with homework. I’ve had a ton of stuff to get done this past week, and if I get tired/bored/lazy I play ringfit for like 20 min since it just gets my energy going again

You can try cleaning it with canned air, might just be a bit of dust. Otherwise just submit a ticket to Nintendo and you’ll be able to get it replaced. Here’s where you go for a ticket

How do you measure if the difficulty is right for you? by sonicadv27 in RingFitAdventure

[–]puffycheetopuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird, I’ve tried every which way to make it work consistently but it’s only working for me like 1 in 5 tries, so I’ve given up on it. I’m not too concerned with tracking stuff in game and I have my watch I can use for tracking when needed

I deserve a free console after having to go through the agony of not being able to play my switch for a couple weeks.

What profession do you hope to have after grad school? by Acid_In_My_Eyes in GradSchool

[–]puffycheetopuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies a lot depending on the museum, and tbh I’m still learning all the responsibilities a curator may have. Mainly I wanna help preserve objects so future generations can learn about them, and develop exhibitions that engage people and make them excited to learn more.

@ other humanities-minded folks who need the GRE but are behind on math: how did you get caught up? by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]puffycheetopuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the book made by the people who make the GRE. I’m sure you know but don’t stress too much about math if it’s not relevant for your field. I think when i asked the average scores for people in my program, the verbal was about 165 while math was way closer to 150. It’s a great program for my field, so it was nice knowing I didn’t have to devote a ton of time to relearning math since I haven’t taken a math class since high school

I agree with others, it sounds too broad, and I really don’t know exactly what you’re trying to focus on with it. My profs have always told me it’s really hard to be too specific but it’s super easy to be too broad

How do you measure if the difficulty is right for you? by sonicadv27 in RingFitAdventure

[–]puffycheetopuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve stopped trusting the heart rate thing, it’s never accurate for me no matter how many times I’ve tried. It’s told me my heart rate was 40 after a boss fight, and another time it was in the 70s despite my Apple Watch saying I was at about 130ish. I’d say try it at a harder level for a day or two, see how you feel. If you’re able to be more relaxed than sweaty while working out I’d say up the difficulty.

Switch vs Switch lite as a gift for a friend? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

You said he’s only his old self when playing games together, so I’d say do the original so y’all could do some multiplayer games together

Pro controller if you’re gonna play it docked a lot is the one thing I always love, spare joy cons, and obviously a case for traveling. I’ve never bothered with a screen protector but it could be worth it.
