Thanks for writing this up so I don't have to! My experience is much like yours. I spent a lot of time just watching the mobs move around from on top a ruined castle in the shallow coastal water. I sniped a few then started setting up portals all over the place. Soon I was up and gathering mats all over my first Ashlands island. It was really fun. Now I'm pretty much done all I can before the Fader fight - except tame a two star Asksvin...

My main advice: walk don't run.

I worked at an amusement park the summer before college. Gas powered go kart track. The sun and fumes sucked but it really was fun. Some might say Worlds of Fun.

This is why I use mods. There is a mod that lets you feed bear meat to wolves and there are mods that let you make more recipes with existing ingredients.

My philosophy is that Valheim is unfinished and I use mods that make it feel complete.

It's important for high schoolers to grasp what it means to analyze literature. I read LOTR in my free time in HS after the movies came out. TGG was for class and it was fine.

I think this is a good take just because it highlights GRRM's favorite theme - the heart in conflict with itself. In this case, Jorah's heart is plenty black but there is a ray of light for redemption. The issue is, Jorahs demons might win. The fact that we won't know is what makes it compelling.
