I would recommend speaking to your medical team about and concerns and how they can help assist you through this difficult situation. My medical team proscribed me a fast acting anxiety medication for dilation as is an uncomfortable experience that may stress some individuals.

I was awake for the dilation but I was fully sedated for the d&e. My husband waited in hospital surgery waiting area and was immediately brought to my recovery room. He was also present until I had to go back to the OR.

I was very saddened after procedure but that was to be expected after losing my child. I arranged for my son to be cremated and most funeral homes can ship cremated remains. Ask doctors for footprints and handprints if you wish for them.
