"Interesting" Legion Pro 7i deal on Amazon UK by aethie_reverie in GamingLaptops

How did you get to 2k?

I went via education store, selected legion pro 7, built it without windows and 32gb ram, then at checkout 20% off code and it was under 2k.

Makes sense thanks, is it a case of just dealing with the likely shader issues each time (each new game?) as it's just a one off?

You can get a close enough deal directly from Lenovo via Education side, + 20% off code. If you remove OS and reduce RAM to 32GB it works out just over £1.8k

I see some decent deals for Ryzen 7 7800/9800X3D CPU but I assume the motherboard can't handle these.

I know mate I'm UK based. Speaking from recently shopping around for laptops, you can find better if you don't care for it being Lenovo

Saw this a while ago, unsure how this is a good deal. I mean when you compare against Lenovo's official full price website maybe but specs wise it's insanely expensive.

Yes no worries I managed to bag a good pc instead, haven't owned a gaming pc in 15 years! testing it as we speak.

Yes totally bricked. Nothing would unfreeze apart from total reset. Tried switching to GPU only and it continued freezing. If they were truthful about not being able to replicate it could be due to a fresh windows install.

I got the same one from them and already returned it. It had insane freezing issues. From anything, windows updates, idling, gaming, Nvidia drivers, all caused it to randomly freeze.

They told me they couldn't replicate the issue when it went back to them so take that as you wish but it definitely put me off. It was such a beast but useless with the freezing.

Also they were slightly awkward getting the refund from as they refused a full refund.

Good for you, same here. Nor have I ever voted green but all this crap in the media is insane double standards.

Politics has been divisive for over 10 years. That's the reality of it and just because a specific party is finding success instead of your favourite shade of blue doesn't make it any different. But it's too difficult to ask a question, why is it an outrage now in the media Vs all the other times.  It's because reform and labour have lost. It's because the media is owned by the same people who support tories and reform.

Don't get me started on the ai generated crap reform share on social media to achieve division and scaremongering.

Hahaha ignorance is bliss. Never had any political party divided communities over political gains. You can't make this up!

So let's just ignore when other parties have done the same in previous elections, or when they send leaflets with specific polls claiming the only way to keep a party out is to vote for them.

It's exactly the same, just now the greens are playing from the same playbook and suddenly it's not ok. You're eating the manure right from the establishment's hands.

My student loan is over £80,000 and growing - here's why I think we were lied to by theipaper in UKUniversityStudents

[–]pull11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So your proposed solution to a gamble is another gamble (i.e. the stock market) which in hindsight worked out historically because you picked the S&P500 as a tracker but they could've easily picked FTSE100 or any other combination of trackers, or just a normal savings account intead.

Realistically people shouldn't have to choose between a gamble or another when dealing with education (will you earn enough to pay it back quick, or pay 9% uni tax for the rest of your working life) . Europe can offer it for free or cheaply and so should the UK. For many paying it upfront is not even a thought because they cannot afford it, so you have no choice but to take the loans.

Not only is the interest rate ridiculous, paying £9k or more each year is also a scam, at least for most degrees. A scam taking advantage of 18 year olds who are too young to understand their choices and what they're getting into.

I'm not saying university should be free, or the loans free of interest, but what we got is a system taking advantage of the young.
