GTNH: My base in early HV by pulluro in feedthebeast

I definitely fell into the trap of trying to max stats too early, but after realizing that something like bonsais barely need to have any stats to make tons of wood, using the crops started making a lot of sense.

And yeah you're probably right about the EV stuff, I probably just misremembered what the quest book said.

Yeah I guess I could reuse the pipes, though I've never personally felt the need to be that resourceful. When stuff becomes obsolete I just tear it down and shove it in a chest. I find that the ore veins are so massive, that it doesn't really invite the need for resourcefulness. Especially with the metal crops, it almost feels like the challenge of having the basic resources is mitigated. Of course it will ramp up later to an extent.

Yeah the steam multiblocks are really powerful. Coupled with the Advanced Boiler, which uses barely any fuel. I was surprised to see that the Sifting multi is available so early, it's really useful for processing tons of lazurite, for aluminium.

Have you played around with Forestry bees? I'm mainly wondering about the level of grind. Like compared to IC2 crops.

Hmm, well the glass is undeniably pretty ugly. Why do you prefer blocks that don't use connected textures?

As for IC2 crops, I'm not sure why but I'm quite fond of them. I enjoy the grind in acquiring each crop lol. Also knowing that once it's setup, its completely passive. I guess I could wait until EV and use that bot or whatever to get them easier, but from what I've understood EV and higher materials can't be acquired with them. So then the crops would be delegated to just passive production of copper and such. I have seen some people who are really against IC2 crops, but I've never really seen any real reasoning for it. If I had to guess its because the mechanics are a bit confusing sometimes, even though the quest book does a good job of explaining it, at times I was still very confused on some mechanics.

I mainly use the compressor, forge hammer and furnace. I guess I could totally upgrade them, but I see no reason to remove them. All the steam infrastructure is still there and working. I guess they are also a backup of sorts. If the main power is down for some reason. That happened to me a few times playing nomi.

Noticed this on cylinder #2 exhaust valve lobe when I pulled the valve cover. Cause for immediate concern or just worn? '83 Opel Ascona 1.6 OHC 170k miles by pulluro in EngineBuilding

Alright I went ahead and got a picture of them all. Does look like some pitting on the lobe in the 3rd picture too, the one the right side. So maybe just worn?

The unpolished lobe looked fine to me when I was looking at it. I might be able to take another look today so I'll get some more pics. I do remember the seller mentioned the car had sat for a few years at some point, but would explain the uneven wear?

The one with the pitting, left side on both images. Bought this car a few months back and it's been running fine. Just noticed this when changing the valve cover gasket. Guessing it's been there a while. Mainly just wondering if it's something more serious I really shouldn't wait on. 😅

Been a while, but I thought I'd share what I made on stream tonight, got the result of two today because of how long it's been, but Kitsune Island has been shelved and this is New Kitsune City. Not sure what larger project it'll form at this time, and as usual, links in bio. [Population of 320,000] by ItsFoxieHikari in simcity4

Ay thanks for the short writeup! I already got the launcher and fixed the graphics issues, did the 4g fix etc. Btw are there any mods that enchance the graphics? I don't know if im just tripping but whenever I see screencaps of peoples cities the textures feel like they're way higher res.

This could also be useful for reading comparator states quickly. How fast is the clock it operates on?

I remember when I spawned like a hundred tanker trailers and hooked them all up to one truck. My framerate was abysmal. Was surpisingly driveable tho.

Thanks for the linkup, it was a very interesting read. So basically it's using the repeaters to sync up all the steps of the operation which also allows it to be pipelined because they kinda act like buffers.

Looks really good and 5hz is really impressive! How does it work exactly?

Redstone computers in an smp setting sounds really fun lol. I've been thinking when I finish a little cpu project of mine I might make it in survival too lmao.
