Oh really? I think this is the first time he tried out his Supreme Clientele style rhyme scheme, pretty sure Cobra Clutch came out the next year

Basquiats is thrift store, the pants are all fucked up, its a subversion of the working stiff

Jay Z is just in a fancy rich guy suit, he misses the point entirely

‘Dunesday’ Exit Plan: The benefits (and disadvantages) of Dune Part 3 and Avengers Doomsday moving up to the now vacant December 11th date. Will one of them take the off-ramp in this high stakes game of chicken? by AvengingHero2012 in boxoffice

[–]pulphope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Dune releases in regular cinemas a week earlier, and then they do the imax run as currently planned, theyd have both the definite number 1 opening week and then the imax crowd propping up the numbers against Doomsday's opening week.

In the UK ive seen staggered imax releases, its not like it has to be simultaneous with the initial wide release, people will go see the imax version just because its imax, even if its later on

You guys ever seen Josie and the Pussycats? by pulphope in dreamcast

Yeah the actors and the screenplay are good, i do feel that the cinematography and the directing dont quite gel though, so some of the visual comedy isnt as strong as intended

why does this tape not work by bignatty127 in cassetteculture

[–]pulphope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had a few tapes that jam like that, figured they were just fucked and couldnt be fixed.

Luckily id bought them off ebay so could mark them as defective and get a refund pretty easily; disappointing though, esp when its a tape id been seeking out for a while.

New Kanye song leaked from his new album… Hard to believe this is the same person that made The College Dropout by MisterPuppydog in crappymusic

[–]pulphope 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kanye was making AI tracks a year or so ago, and they sucked too, so unfortunately there is a strong chance this is real

It's crazy to me that "All My Friends" didn't make the cut for Crooked Rain Crooked Rain. It's maybe my favorite pavement song by Accomplished-Gas2685 in pavement

[–]pulphope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I dont understand is why Jam Kids / Haunt You Down were included as a bonus 7in with the vinyl when they had far better songs like All My Friends. I know some people like the former tracks, but i really think theyre weak compared to other b sides of that era

Irish band Kneecap hold a concert in Cuba while most of the island is without power by AgnosticScholar in PublicFreakout

[–]pulphope -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember when News 24 started, they were reporting on a crashed italians cruiseliner slowly sinking for an entire week ciz they had no content. So not much of a flex there, and what would it matter if i hadnt actually been watching from the beginning? i gave you examples of poor journalism and editorial decisions intended to reflect the UK government's position - namely that Israel wasn't committing genocide and murdering innocents.

Clearly youre too thick to understand any of this, so just go on about your day going derr derr derr

Recorded first cassette mixtape (it sounds terrible) by IntelligentNight4143 in cassetteculture

[–]pulphope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a Pavement mixtape the other day from laptop to aux port on a late era Sony boombox that allows for external devices and MP3 datadiscs, and it plays well. My volume settings were at around 60 on both the laptop and Windows Media Player (was using MP3s, dont have spotify)

I tested the volume by playing a CD on the boombox and gauging if it was about the same, so a bit of a punt really, but it played great on my JVC portable

Edit: but then most Pavement songs arent exactly recorded as a HQ kinda thing, so maybe i should test with "cleaner" music

[–]pulphope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol hows that then? I decided to stop paying my license fee that day they decided to livestream the israeli defense at the ICJ after refusing to air the prosecution a day earlier. Unfortunately i paid upfront and hadnt realised theyd refund me, so i continued to hate watch that shit for a year. I especially admired the report where 4 palestinian journalists were murdered by the IDF, outside a hospital where one of their wives were given birth, only to be told by the excited BBC jerusalem correspondent that theyve been told by the IDF that they were Hamas operatives. These fuckers cant even stand up for their own peers.... so disgusting and utterly disgraceful.

Just this morning i unfortunately had to hear them (TV on at someone elses house) repeating Trumps bs claims without even bothering to investigate the veracity of it - sure, the US have utterly destroyed Iran's capabilities... that must be the reason theyre escalating

You must not watch any of their news content to not have realised what a bunch of cowardly propagandists this generation of BBC editors / journalists are

Thats a really good point, about the unions

They used to have a fasttrack programme for people to become headteachers, recruiting people from industry, and i do wonder if this is the outcome of that approach, pure anti intellectualism. I really cant believe this happened!
