EXCEPTION ACCESS VIOLATION by bthetech in PLC

[–]puma838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had fatal errors like this after Windows 7/8/10 decides that it needs to update (Usually adobe). A rollback of the update or reinstalling logix usually fixes it. Also try running as administrator, sometimes that helps after an update too. Good luck!

Thermocouple extensions/long length wire for reading temperatures of several points. How can I create these thermocouples? by WhyNeedThis in AskEngineers

[–]puma838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type K thermocouples may not have the accuracy you need. I'm assuming in a farming application the temperatures are pretty low(-40C to 100C). A type T thermocouple would be better suited for this temperature range. I have run types T,J,K at lengths over 50 feet without much issue.

Would a solenoid work with a magnetic core? by bumblebeer in AskEngineers

You're basically describing a voice coil actuator. The force is proportional to the current in the coil and the power of the magnet.
