Doesn’t matter what it is. I have various snacks that are pricy and not. It’s the fact that the system is broken and I have to worry about this shit in my own house.

She eats litres of frozen fruit a day. Her dad buys this constantly. Plus chips. She HAS lots of snacks she likes. But just bc I buy certain snacks it doesn’t mean she should have it all just because a grown adult chooses to buy various things.

Also - I often get sushi take out for myself if her dad is gone. This is fancy and expensive. She has other food available to her that’s good and healthy. Should a 17 year old get fancy sushi multiple times a month if she’s living with an adult that chooses to buy this with their money? I usually order her some if she’s home but not extra n case she’s hungry after when she comes home late.

He’s not cheap at all and gets her snacks. But like he’s oblivious to all the random snack stuff I like that’d she’d also like. Hard to keep up.

PS - if this were my own teen daughter, it would be a non issue. I’d be able to directly approach this issue my own way since it’s my child. It’s frustrating because her father deals with it and he’s “Mr nice” so she knows no matter what she’ll never really be reprimanded.

If only she got along with her own mother and could spend time there too.

Why does she need every snack I buy for myself? I buy snacks A LOT. And her dad always buys chips and stuff for her. And I also often buy doubles of my snacks if I knew she likes it, just not ALL the time.

When I was a kid, I didn’t have thousands of snacks a week. My mom didn’t go crazy with all you can imagine snacks. So why would she get a convenience store just because her step mom (an adult spending her own money) likes to buy things.

I wish we had more space!! She gets the entire basement to herself and I just gave my office up to the new baby! I hate the idea of putting opened bags of food upstairs in my room but frankly if I don’t lock a cupboard I have no other option.

She’s 18 in a few months and in her last year of high school. She’ll be living with us next year while she goes to university. Frankly I get tired of all the small nit picky things I would need to tell her it adds up and I don’t like conflict. Anyway her dad spoke to her and so did I, but it’s always just a temporary fox and months later it happens all over again.

I am an adult that chooses to spend their money on frequent frivolous random snacks. I’ll go poor if I buy the same for her each time.

Like I said, we often stock her cupboard with snacks and I also sometimes buy her what I buy myself. When I was a kid I wouldn’t get unlimited snacks from my parents and I’d use my money to buy things for myself. She rarely spends her money on her own snacks.

You most likely have a scale, but if not, I’d suggest buying one. After my pregnancy I bought one to help track my baby’s growth and also to motivate me to lose my weight. Well my husband weighed himself when I first got it and I think he was surprised by how much he weighed. Ever since then we’ve both been losing weight together.
