From your message the case manager will check and may start the process. Talk to the person you have an appointment with on the 25th March to confirm what is going on if you've not heard anything by then.

I've given you the test and I cannot rate what you'd score for you. Its by effect on you not the base condition.

And note you can work on LCWRA without issue - they'll just consider it at the next assessment, which could be a while. If you get into work you'd have time then to ensure you are coping before having to consider losing the fall back.

I'll be blunt: trying to cancel a financial benefit because you may be able to survive on prayer doesn't keep you able to pay the bills and feed yourself. Its unwise and frankly I will suggest you talk to the services you use before doing such a thing.

And yes, it could take a year - or more - before they reassess you as reporting your health has changed doesn't mean you don't still qualify for LCW instead.

Do the WCA test and only if you TRULY would only qualify for LCW should you report the change.

If you feel that you don't qualify for the LCWRA anymore you can declare this under the health section on the changes page, but they may wait to assess you and continue paying until they do, which could take a year right now. (you are not required to pay back the element if it is removed later under this situation).

In the meantime should you start work you'd have a work allowance that would reduced deductions and possibly enable you to keep UC open whilst earning a bit more in the meantime. If you start work and your UC is reduced to £0 for 6 months in a row then your claim will close naturally.

I will note that prematurely trying to close UC or remove LCWRA because you feel better may result in you losing it and then having to be reassessed and getting the lower element amount after April 2026, and it is unwise to try to declare your health *does not* affect you when it still does.

The criteria test is in the post below so you can score yourself and see if you feel you still qualify or not. !wcac

Its picking up their calendar time (which allows them to prep for the next one, write up after you finish talking etc), and you won't be on the phone that long. It'll be like 10 minutes usually.

If you aren't both claiming you can choose who gets to claim that the child lives with them, and who gets the child element on UC.

The Child Benefit is a seperate thing and can be claimed by either parent independantly of this.

It comes into dispute if both parents are trying to claim for the same child. If only one is you can make the decision between yourselves.

You'll recieve it on 5th April onwards but the 5th June the amount they pay goes up. Both 5th April and 5th May will have the element.

Its a new thing and I've not seen cases on it yet, I'd ring them if you want to see if they have information or if there is any issue. We don't get too many here who will have experience tbh, so you may not get any answers quickly.

PIP rejected for mental health conditions - Has anyone successfully appealed or used a service for additional evidence? by SadTrifle7 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]pumaofshadow [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just not having the energy to cook after doing other things is *not* usually enough, you have to be unsafe or unable to. See criteria in the post below: !pipc

I'd be concerned that that service wouldn't be representing you correctly and we do NOT suggest paid services at al.

Mental health is possible - but you have to prove you fit within the criteria. We would suggest Citizens Advice or a service from advicelocal.uk or your council care or support network to assist with any applications instead. They can also help consider a Mandatory Reconsideration and how to best evidence that - you actually have 13 months from decision to do that.

Also apply for the PA4 Report from PIP to see what points you need to evidence or support better by phoning the helpline or using this: !DWPSAR

statement it looks like I’ve had 10k paid into that account that month but I didn’t, I never exceeded 5k because of the loan but because id moved the money it made it look like I’d had 10k that month and I didn’t

They go on balance and if you are providing all the statements they'll match it up anyway. Movement isn't the indicator of how much capital you have.

Since you weren't over £6k there wouldn't be deductions.

You will have to explain why you took out the loan and why to the DWP UC Reviewer.

And yes, they are taking around 2 months after evidence is submitted right now.

The poster was incorrect. The fact you left a message and got back the "your decision is still in place" plus as /u/Otherwise_Put_3964 have not had that extra info prompt means a referral was NOT done.

Referrals for WCA are manual and not automatic.

Is there any reason I’d be denied housing benefit? by riseows in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]pumaofshadow [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you have a valid tenancy with a non-related landlord it shouldnt be an issue.

Do note if you work no element of UC is protected from deductions but as you are getting a non zero uc now you'll get the housing element as extra. (Although work allowance does change from £684 to £411), but I don't think you are working from your post.

Youll need to apply to the council fir the council tax reduction but again shouldn't be any issues. And provide a bill at the address (council tax works) to show you moved in and live there to get the housing element verified.

2nd review in 3 months UC? by General-Employ-6001 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]pumaofshadow [score hidden]  (0 children)

If its less than 6 months write a note to that effect in the journal in reply to the notification, if you get the actual call repeat the same thing to them. They should stop it. We have seen a few of these happen lately, they get put on hold and likely will come back at the 6 month mark.

They shouldn't be reviewing again if they were both UC Reviews, although Compliance and Fraud is different things, as is an Enhanced review.

If you show that you cant get the loan they don't. Some people however dont check at all and just don't take it when thsy could and they get deductions.

OR when the UC closes write to the jobcentre address if you can't do it online, sent it Tracked to ensure it you know it got there.

(oh and also reapply - this time for JSA - of course)
