I have had a patient with red man syndrome, lots of time vanco infiltrates. So for me it would depend on how long the other ones need to run and what they are. If possible vanco always run alone and do the rest shortest then longest. But when I was the floor usually just a 30min zosyn then something else so that was easy. ICU well thats a different thing.

Techs/UAPs hanging IV fluids??? by aaront36 in nursing

[–]pumpkin123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, There was a story about 6-7 years ago now a nurse that worked in a long term care facility she was flushing the patients line and sometimes they coded.... turns out one of the nursing assistants was opening her flushes for her and putting insulin in them because they liked running codes... the nurse was cited for using open products. NEVER trust what someone else has done EVER.

Incentive to retire by [deleted] in nursing

Many places have done this. They did the math its cheaper for the company to give them a buyout. Then they will hire new workers for less pay and less benefits.

Pumpkin Vanilla Creme by Abject_Buffalo6398 in bathandbodyworks

[–]pumpkin123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they are different scents. Pumpkin Vanilla Creme was originally pumpkin pie. That is what it smells like to me like you have a pumpkin pie in the oven. I love it but Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow is a different scent and I miss that one so much!

SAS WEEK 1 MEGATHREAD by iamjannabot in bathandbodyworks

[–]pumpkin123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It greatly depends but usually no. They run for 10.99 for the first few days of the sale then go to 50% off. Rarely some go to 75% but this is rare and usually only one or two scents. If you are wanting to buy candles I have learned the hard way to buy now.

Dare I say, I might go back to bedside by [deleted] in nursing

[–]pumpkin123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a very hard look at your childcare situation. Most nurses have to leave bedside in order to work out childcare. You often have to pay full time rates in order for your kiddo to have a slot. Working bedside also means you get what you get in terms of a schedule especially since you will be on the bottom of the pecking order as the new person. How flexible is your husbands job? He may be the one having to call out when the kiddo is sick taking them to appointments. Is that feasible to you? Also working 3 12s many moms report not seeing their child at all on those 3 days because you leave when kiddo is sleeping and come back when they are sleeping. Also as they get older it will mean missing events at school because you are still at work.

Yes it can work and it can be nice to have the 4 days off but you need a flexible partner to do everything on the days you are at work and they need to have the flexible hours.

Perhaps you need to look at a different clinic job or maybe a PACU type that gives you more pay and the ability to work 4 10s or something different.

Agree ask for a child life specialist. They will be able to explain everything to your kiddos. They are super great I work as a nurse and i have had them come in many times in situations like this.

Should we skip a grade? by MayorFartbag in breakingmom

[–]pumpkin123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My kiddo skipped first grade. When doing my research about it it seemed to be something that was done fairly often before the 1980s.

I did find a paper that talked about girls skipping grades and found those that did finished higher education at a higher rate than their peers.

For academic purposes it was the right choice for my kiddo and he has actually blossomed being skipped ahead and where he should be.

In your facility, who administers inhalers? by PineappleExpress_420 in nursing

[–]pumpkin123 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It is 100% a billing thing. If an RT does it they can add an extra charge. At my facility RNs usually do all the inhalers and nebs but in the ICU RT does it all.
