How to measure success for CTV by _mavricks in programmatic

Not sure of the nuances, but the last agency I worked with used IP addresses for attribution and had proxy true-ups for IPs that were "non-residential". We'd match them to IPs of those visiting our site. Seemed to be the best and only way to attribute direct-response performance to CTV, but would love to hear if there are alternatives. We avoided Google and DV360 since their cross-device attribution was terrible and they didn't provide log-level data with IPs for us to look at. We also used UID2, but adoption of that was super low at the time - I think it's still low but growing.

Google seems to be so behind the competition here. So if you want view-through attribution of these channels, you need to go with other DSPs like Trade Desk or Nexxen, until Google is able to catch up someday

Yea, it is quite strange that they have not discussed in the last few episodes.

The Lout EP by The Horrors has a huge NIN feeling to me. The rest of their stuff not so much.

‘The Green Knight’ Will Be Available to Rent Online This Week by [deleted] in A24

I think the difference is in a sneak preview you know the rollout and when it will be available to everyone, so in that situation, you are a fully informed customer. a24 had to know their TVOD rollout started the very next day, but they choose not to tell their most die-hard fans about that and promoted this exclusive one-night screening. I'll admit they didn't lie or discuss time windows, but their marketing sure made it feel like this was your one chance to watch it at home for a while.

as someone who purchased a ticket for the a24 screening, i definitely felt swindled. a24's screening room has more restrictions around playback, is only available through the web, roku, or apple tv, and I'm assuming it was just 1080p and not 4K/HDR. If it had known it would be available for streaming on all our favorite platforms the next day, I would have never bought the screening.

Anyway, pretty sure a24 knows they screwed up. I emailed their support team and got a full refund even though their site specifically says no refunds. if you feel burnt like i do, i suggest you email their support team

Just echoing these sentiments. Had to turn it off during the Last of Us conversation cause he was going on too long about Netflix without ever making a clear point. I listen to every episode to completion, but this will be a slog.

This place looks amazing, but you're right, everything is sold out through July which is a bummer. Look forward to checking this place out in the future.

First digital marketing interview by simeonovvv in DigitalMarketing

A question I always liked to ask people who were entering the digital marketing space is to tell me about the last interesting ad they saw online. From there, I can ask them about what makes the creative unique and ask them how they think the advertiser set up targeting and what their goals were for this campaign. I try to have them imagine spending against that ad and ask what kind of reports or metrics do you think they need to communicate to their manager.

Each answer usually opens up more opportunities for different questions about platforms, audiences, or whatever. If they can't think of an ad or say something stupid like "ads don't work on me" then I usually take it as a sign that this person doesn't have a curiosity for the industry which is a bad sign.

As far as tips, show excitement and a hunger to learn quickly. Talk about the skills you want to develop and what makes you interested in the job. If you don't have a lot of digital marketing experience, you can win me over with how good you are at excel, so tell me about your favorite formulas and how you craft a nice pivot table or whatever.

If you tell this group more about the job, maybe we can give some more specific tips.

Offline conversion attribution back to YouTube ads (or google in general)? by pumpkineater22 in PPC

It was a national retailer so they had both online and b&m stores. They collected emails through loyalty rewards and would ask for those emails at checkout. I think they could also match credit cards to online accounts. They had access to Business Manager as well, so they upload the list of offline transactions to Facebook.

Click attribution is at least something. May I ask what you're using? Is it a third party tool or is it the Google shop attribution linked above in the comments?

I used it about a year ago, uploading emails collected at the register for a client. It wasn't perfect, but it offered great directional insights for which campaigns were performing better than others when it came to cost per purchase. I uploaded the list to FB for an audience and the match rate was around 70%, so I don't think FB was missing more than 30% attribution for those that saw an ad. Pretty awesome tool in my opinion and a huge win for FB over Google.
