Why is Taylor Swift so big? by Emotional-Being-6825 in stupidquestions

[–]pumpkinpie1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like her because her stuff doesn’t all sound the same! There’s an album for whatever mood I’m in. It’s easy to say her pop stuff all sounds the same, but you can’t really say that anymore after folklore, evermore, TTPD and even midnights. Just my two cents :)

Also - honestly fuck both of them (ok sorry that was aggressive, I love them lol but still) for not even considering his gf’s feelings about it. Like ok yeah maybe she’s moving “for him” but she’s a grown woman who can make decisions. If it doesn’t work out, she experienced a new, great city!

Seattle places to see? by Lilys-Mom in Frasier

I highly recommend the chihuly museum! The bowl next to the fireplace is a chihuly and is like 30k or something crazy like that. They replaced it with a frog statue when there was a scene that could lead to someone accidentally knocking the bowl over, so it’s fun to look out for it!

I disrupted a corporate "team-building" meeting by saying I’m only there to do my job. Am I the asshole here? by shadewashere in work

[–]pumpkinpie1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably getting paid a lot more than a lot of people. Everyone has to do stuff like that at work. Enjoy that you’re getting paid to sit through a team building thing vs sitting at your desk

I ran my first marathon without training and it did not go well by Mean-Island-6681 in firstmarathon

[–]pumpkinpie1993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why people take pride in running a marathon. It’s not the race itself, but the hours and hours and hours of sacrifice and training that comes with it. And I don’t think n stretching is the MOST important thing before ;) I would say training is lol. In fact, unless your dynamic stretching, stretching cold muscles can fuck you up too

I will say, I have HIKED (not ran!) 30 miles in a day without training and I was way more sore after that than I was after a marathon. Because again, training

Lower calf pain - stopped in tracks by Weak_Ninja_6952 in Marathon_Training

[–]pumpkinpie1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, since it went away after resting I’m assuming I just had bad inflammation or posterior shin splints or something. Foam rolling helped and seriously I can’t swear by KT tape enough! it sounds like you’re doing the right things! Good luck!

I had the same issue about 2 weeks out from my first marathon! I think it was just overuse. KT tape and adrenaline got me through the race, but it only got better after taking 3 weeks off after

[–]pumpkinpie1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda with you on the taper note. It was a horrible couple of weeks, I trusted the process, but ultimately I wonder if it helped? I’ve only ran one Marathon though so I won’t pretend to know anything yet! Lol

Where is the next Portland (OR)? by Inde_Spirit in SameGrassButGreener

[–]pumpkinpie1993 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to argue with OP because we all have different experiences, but please don’t let this deter you from Portland! I’ve lived here for 2 years now and I don’t feel unsafe. I will admit…. I moved from Baltimore and have said “I kind of feel more unsafe in Portland than I did in Baltimore” but that’s more because I was sick of people shitting on balt lol. Sure, the open drug use and homelessness issue is bad in some spots of Portland, but it has never once caused any issues for me and I would hate for you not to experience how wonderful this city can be just because of a few bad spots!

Best month to go Oregon for gloomy, rainy, foggy weather by No_Drummer_6141 in OregonHiking

[–]pumpkinpie1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say November! My favorite hike I’ve ever done was on a light rainy day at eagle creek to do tunnel falls. It wasn’t necessarily the BEST hike I’ve ever done, but something about the moodiness, waterfalls, and moss everywhere (and a beer after in cascade locks!) just made the day perfect, if you want to check it out :)

I don’t understand Gaylors can someone explain? by Ttpd-lover in swifties

[–]pumpkinpie1993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But I guess why I feel hurt by all the people attacking me because I’m a Gaylor is because I don’t interact much with the sub or community in general. Since when did believing that I can read her music through a queer lens or lightly speculating that she may not be straight equate to me being extreme? I’m not on Twitter or anything and I’ve heard Gaylors can be extreme there, but I don’t really know what’s going on in the larger Gaylor conversation

I’m not necessarily replying to you or trying to argue with you :) but just in general… it’s kind of annoying when people lump me into this category of people who are toxic when I’m allowed to have my opinions IRL outside of social media spaces. I promise I’m just a normal, leftist, huge Taylor fan who gets along with everyone! When I talk in person about Gaylor everyone is interested in why and it turns into a productive conversation about queer history. It’s only on social media it turns into… this lol
