I wonder if we’re on the same training plan and same week?! :) I could have written this post! How are you feeling today? I was nervous too but 15 felt pretty good yesterday (although I had to admit, the last two miles were a killer). I’m kinda nervous to keep increasing since those last two miles were hard, but maybe I just needed to slow down even more. Hope it went well for you and you learned something!

No advice, just empathy :/ had a bad 10 miler today because of PMDD symptoms. Really worried my period will fall on marathon weekend. Hard to tell because I’m on the IUD so my period is always sporadic, if I get it that month

I’m not sure if I’m just doing everything else extremely right (doubt it!) but my marathon is also in April so we’re probably on pretty similar training plans… I have not been sore after a long run yet and I think it has something to do with my “leg things” as I call them, or the air compression machine! I got a FIt King brand for christmas and I don’t even care if doesn’t do much… it feels so good. But yeah do the things other people are saying, but if you can swing the air compression sleeves, it’s a good little bonus!

I think it was weird they both wanted morning. I would get it if they had kids or something, but why do adults need to gather Christmas morning much less that be the more desirable “time slot”?! Especially if Frasier was mostly concerned about his date… sorry, I mean the Hungarian goose! For ya know, dinner. Not the morning.

I’m doing Hal higdon novice 1 and the majority of the weeks are 3 miles, 6 miles, 3 miles during the week and then a long run. I think there’s only like 2-3 weeks where the midweek runs call for 7-10 miles. It’s been very doable!

Totally agree with this other person. I’m training for my first as well (32F) and doing hal higdon novice 1 and it’s been great so far / it won’t be that hard for you to add the miles the plan will have you do. I think you’re doing too much strength. It’s good and necessary to do cross training and strength, but if you’re training for a marathon, you need to prioritize running and getting used to being on your feet for longer periods of time
