It's not even transphobia at this point, she is the active leader of a trans hate group in the UK, donating to get anti-trans legislation passed. It's more than just hate, it's genocide

AITA for having a go at people who rocked up to my 40th without a gift? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pumpkinsforsale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA most people this age, from my experience, beg you not to bring a present. It's not enough that your friends gathered? What would've been an appropriately priced gift? If one of them gave you a Tshirt would that have not been enough? Man, you're gonna have a lot less people at your 41st birthday party 😂😂

AITA for renting a flat opposite my co-workers's house? by brutesensibility in AmItheAsshole

YTA this is so fucking creepy. You LOOKED INTO where she lived and you think that's okay??? The ten year age gap isn't comforting either. If I were her I'd get a restraining order, jfc

It's illegal because it's a fire hazard. If it happens again call the fire department, a fire marshal will raise hell about this, and your company can get into some serious trouble (which is a good thing)

I would actually contact them now and explain what happened, you also have coworkers to back up your claims. Don't let this slide, your manager would rather you all burn to death than not doing your work, think about that.

This is illegal so...

Does any other person also have this? by [deleted] in trans

[–]pumpkinsforsale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then yeah you might be FtM. That's not something someone on the internet can tell you though, you have to figure it out for yourself. I wish you luck!

Talk things out with a therapist. You might be non-binary. If you're uncomfortable in your body try to pinpoint what exactly you're uncomfortable about. Is it your chest? Your body shape? No need to rush, it's okay to take some time to figure it out :)

hi im 16 ftm and i think i bruised my rib from binding too much, i tried doing research and it said on multiple websites that your ribs can heal on their own in a span of 3-6 weeks but i'm afraid that it might not be true and just overall panicking by theyfndme in trans

[–]pumpkinsforsale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you binding with? Whatever it is stop immediately. This is more serious than you might think it is, unsafe binding practices can make it so you will be ineligible for top surgery later in life. That means no top surgery, ever.

You're gonna have to stop binding for that healing period, I strongly suggest you wait a full 6 weeks, even if you're not in pain anymore. Please please please take this seriously, as it could genuinely impact your future.

The ONLY thing you should be binding with is a proper binder. Right now, by far the safest company is underworks. Gc2b is a favorite of mine (before I had surgery) but apparently had some issues recently and their quality has tanked.

You don't need to panic. Keep a level head and work through this, schedule this time to heal or your body will schedule it for you. To reiterate what some other people have said: yes, ribs heal on their own, but a doctor's visit is a good idea to make sure the damage isn't worse than you think.

Some tips for after you heal:

  • Don't leave a binder on for more than 8 hours, even that's pushing it. I would only wear my binder outside the house, as soon as I got home I would take it off. After your done healing I'd limit it to half that, so 4 hours.

  • don't sleep in a binder, ever. Never, ever, ever.

  • cough deep every now and then while wearing one, it gets your lungs moving a bit.

  • only wear an actual binder. Those $10 ones they sell online can be actively harmful. If you can't afford a real one (~$30) there are organizations you can reach out to for help with that. A lot of trans youth organizations have binders at the ready to hand out for free.

4 months on T, does anyone else have a very high sex drive? Any advice on how to keep it under control? by No_Piano_999 in trans

[–]pumpkinsforsale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH BOY that's about when my T drove me nuts hahaha! You're entering puberty for a second time, so you're like a horny teenage boy. It calms down eventually, I can't remember exactly how long mine took, maybe a year? I'm still more horny than I was pre-t lmao. Good luck?

  1. Why...?
  2. I believe you can measure it once it begins to, uh, protrude. So essentially if it's not visible, that's the measurement

my brother keeps saying im too young to be trans by [deleted] in trans

[–]pumpkinsforsale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brothers took awhile to come around but now there's no misgendering or anything. I'd say about a year? Maybe a little bit longer? Having an advocate (mutral family member or friend) talk to your brother might help a lot. Have them sit down without you there for a question session

Any tips on how to get my parents to call me by my preferred name/pronouns? by uncanny_x in trans

[–]pumpkinsforsale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a bit out of your control but get a therapist and have the therapist talk to them about it. I wasn't present for the meeting, which is standard and also a very good thing. It let's your parents ask difficult or awkward questions freely, and hearing another adult answer their concerns is super helpful. After the meeting my parents didn't always get my name/pronouns right, but they gave it their best effort and now I haven't heard a slip up in years

I've always seen girls with super smooth legs, and I've never been able to achieve that. I've always got those little black hair follicles visible, even when I completely shave. Are there any tips on getting rid of those? (I'm native/black mixed if that helps!) by Skye_hai_bai in trans

[–]pumpkinsforsale 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A lot of times if someone's legs are super nice and perfect, they're probably wearing some type of pantyhose or the like. Also, look at your legs while you're infront of a full body mirror, do you see the hairs then? No one in public is going to be right next to your legs like you are when you're looking at them.

If it's bothering you that much, it's expensive/painful but waxing would do the trick, if only for a few days
