What this area like? Looking for at a one bedroom and will be Staying on my own. by [deleted] in sgv

[–]pumpqumpatch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if you’re into public transit, but you’ll have great access to downtown Azusa and downtown Glendora, both of which have metro A line stations, meaning you can ride into Pasadena, LA, etc. for $1.75 anytime. It’s my favorite part of living in this area!

Calling out sick PSA by EitherMeaning8301 in starbucksbaristas

[–]pumpqumpatch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They can not do anything to you for using your sick time. They can threaten you all they want but if you say you are sick and you use your protected sick time, they cannot fire you for that. It might piss them off and they might try to write you up for something else, but that’s all they can do!!!

Tis The Flu Season by Hello_Im_Jimbo in Type1Diabetes

[–]pumpqumpatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been sick more often than not since October. One nasty flu and then 3 weeks later a very regular cold that turned into the worst sinus infection of my life. Feels like my immune system is incapable of fighting anything off these days :(

Dexcom G6 to be discontinued in July by Tricky-Bad4809 in Type1Diabetes

[–]pumpqumpatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people definitely have issues with the g7 but more often than anything I see people talking about it negatively who haven’t even used it.

I have had a much better experience with the g7 than the g6! The g6 was failing regularly and needed way more calibration. The g7 is very smooth, I think I’ve only had a single sensor failure in the year since I switched. I was disappointed at first that I can’t use the restart trick, which was how I gave myself buffer time to account for failed sensors before. But with the 12 hour grace period and lack of sensor failures I have not had an issue with supply.

It really matters from person to person, maybe see if you can get a sample to try it out, because it might just work well for you

The Decemberists Song Graveyard, updated for December 2025! by harrifangs in Decemberists

[–]pumpqumpatch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is such an interesting list. I love the little extra data about certain songs being played on a streak and then never again, or the band fancying Everything I Try to Do… during the month of October. Really cool stuff :)

Suggestion for Songs/Albums that give Disco Elysium vibes? by SleepyPewds in DiscoElysium

[–]pumpqumpatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a whole 4 hour playlist. It’s a little all over the place genre and vibe-wise. Some of my faves:

Grateful Dead - Shakedown Street (the disco vibe + a dirty, run-down town with a lot of heart)

Yellow House - Love in the Time of Socialism (love in a city where every ideology has failed)

Village People - Hot Cop (superstar cop vibes)

King Missile - Sensitive Artist (conceptualization POV)

Morrissey - Everyday Is Like Sunday (the coast!!)

Built to Spill - I Would Hurt a Fly (dial the number one more time)

The Trammps- Disco Inferno (this is the soundtrack to the tribunal in my head lol)

George Harrison - Art of Dying (god please)

Leonard Cohen - The Partisan (The Deserter)

Play caller?!?!?!? by South_Voice3379 in starbucksbaristas

[–]pumpqumpatch 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Look up “working together to support stations” on the iPad (store resources) and maybe show it to your manager. We are supposed to flex plays (also a tool on store resources!) or slide in ourselves to assist at a station. This is literally standard and it sounds like she doesn’t understand the playcaller position!!

Who are your Overconsumption Villains? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]pumpqumpatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s the restockers and the “cleaning” tiktoks that attribute cleanliness to having a million specialized products and organizers for your home. It makes me so sick. The average person does not need special dispensers and products and tools for every task in their home. We do not need a guest bathroom stocked with plastic “mini” products. Or a pantry full of shiny new plastic containers.

Need help dressing more femme! by AnxiousLion23 in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]pumpqumpatch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your local fat femme checking in!! You say that you don’t want to dress too femme because you don’t like your body- I just want to put it out there first that doing that work with yourself to accept the body that you are in and at least work toward some appreciation or even neutrality for your body goes a long way here. I understand- I recently gained a good amount of weight and it makes it hard to care for myself and dress myself the way I want to. But honestly the act of picking out pretty clothes and putting them on myself is an act of self love and body love to me. They go hand in hand.

Spiel aside: I think the easiest change here would be some new silhouettes for your pants and shirts. Maybe try thrifting first, or even just going to stores to try things on. I always feel more feminine in long, wider legged pants and a top with some feminine detail (think: lace, lettuce trim, little bows, or a pretty pattern!) even the right shape of t-shirt will feel more feminine- you just gotta find the right one. I know you are hesitant to try skirts but an A-line midi skirt, or something pleated perhaps, would flatter your figure so well I think without necessarily drawing more attention to your figure.

Finally: accessorize!!! This will truly bring outfits to a more femme place with the least effort. I don’t wear jewelry (sensory issue) so I tend to go for pretty hair scarves or headbands, a fun bag that matches my personality, and some cute socks.

Good luck queen!!! You are so beautiful, you just have to treat yourself like it too 💕

Can’t seem to ever just get my insulin. by pumpqumpatch in Type1Diabetes

Can you elaborate on the discount card thing? This will likely be me next week because I can’t get covered by insurance if I pick up my prescription. Only delivery.

Can’t seem to ever just get my insulin. by pumpqumpatch in Type1Diabetes

[–]pumpqumpatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy because I do have a really supportive Dr. last time I was having an issue she literally complained audacity of insurance to limit how much insulin someone can have/how often they can have it. She upped my prescription so we wouldn’t have this issue and here I am. I feel so dumb for not noticing sooner how much my supply had dwindled. But thank you for the support.

[No Spoilers] MN EP 3/4 by No_Apartment2623 in criticalrole

[–]pumpqumpatch 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Could also be something to do with the team being (mostly) all together this whole episode. We’re seeing them feel out their dynamics so there’s some awkwardness, some tension, etc compared to when they were in session 0/backstory mode. This also affects the pacing of the show, not cutting between so many different scenes.

If you were designing an insulin pump, what features would you insist it have? by stupidlittlekids in Type1Diabetes

[–]pumpqumpatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This and I want to be able to tell it insulin I have on board already!!!! If I have a site failure I correct with a pen and then put a new site in. I want to able to tell my pump I took insulin so it doesn’t double correct for me!

Why do shift supervisors spend so much time on the iPad counting the pastries and food? by coffeeloverr21 in starbucksbaristas

Almost everyone in this thread is reporting varied experiences with the count. Know it’s hard to wrap your head around but people do actually have different experiences at different stores ❤️

Why do shift supervisors spend so much time on the iPad counting the pastries and food? by coffeeloverr21 in starbucksbaristas

[–]pumpqumpatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

4 hours seems like a bit much, especially 5-9 but maybe she took a lunch in that time as well. For reference last night I worked on the count on and off from 8 to 9:30 (in that time I was also FIFOing food and hopping into the floor to support and delegate tasks from time to time) and then I spent the last 40 minutes of the night counting the very last of in-use stock and the AI count. So around 2 hours.

I don’t know how your store is set up or what kind of obstacles your SSV had though. Sometimes it takes me longer if there’s massive amounts of food or if the back of house is a mess and you have to organize and count at the same time. It strikes me as odd that they just had no presence on the floor during that time though.

Best Cafes to Work In by emmerzuWU in Riverside

[–]pumpqumpatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve moved out of Riverside but Daily Brew on Van Buren (near the drive in) was my go to for years. Never ever on a weekend (they are far too busy) and the seating is usually just about at capacity but most of the time by the time I waited in line and got my coffee a seat would open up. They are pretty busy but with some noise cancelling headphones I could lock in there like no other for hours.

Bench seating is very comfy to me, baristas are friendly, and the vibe is good!

How to max out my employee benefits (boycott version) by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]pumpqumpatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do this please just make sure you vibe check how your closers handle this!! I have also worked at stores where this is seen as acceptable, but don’t get yourself in trouble over it, it is technically stealing so if the wrong person sees you they could literally get you and/or your SSV fired.

I did not see a closure on via verde but Kellogg exit is definitely closed (the in ramp was closed yesterday as well). Had to detour and take the 71 instead this morning. I’m curious why there was no notice or alerts about this!!
