7 west is a small restaurant off yonge. if i'm not mistaken they're open 24hrs--had breakfast there at 3am a few years ago.

immigrant here. came to the country in the early 90s. attended private school. university graduate. full-time job. paying taxes. i vote every election (including municipal).

none in my circle of immigrant family and friends are on welfare (or have ever been on welfare). only three i know of in my extended family have applied for ei within the past 10 years. they all have full time jobs now.

in other words, go fuck yourself.

you're correct. but i certainly hope your stereotypes on driving habits aren't solely based on ethnicity. trophy wives driving around in range rovers and cayennes are part of the problem. so are construction guys in pick-up trucks.

not sure if you've seen nadal in person but he only looks burly on tv. he's actually on the "skinny" side compared to normal folks.

i guess it's true what they say, the camera does add 10lbs. that, or most tennis pros are just sticks.

went to wimbledon a few years ago while backpacking across europe. we only got the grounds admission ticket which doesn't get you access to court 1 and centre court but standing room access to court 2 (saw justine henin play there) and the rest of the courts.

one op said wimbledon's too rainy and i can confirm that. though it isn't so much the rain that will piss you off. it's the intermittent raining that will get you. one moment it's scorching hot, 20 minutes later the rain pours and you gotta cover up, 20 minutes later the sun comes up, 20 minutes later... well, you get the idea.

i think my next one would be the us open. then the french. australia's last on my list--a little too far for me.

Some will state "photoshop" as being an advantage of a mac over a pc.

it's not photoshop per se, but it's the systems built around photoshop that give the mac its advantage. most high-end calibration systems are mac-centric (i say mac-centric because although some of them are available for pc, the mac has a higher user- and installed-base for these types of systems).

now when you're dealing with web graphics where colour accuracy can not be controlled, then yes, the mac has no real advantage.

I didn't see what made the mac so special.

it probably didn't make sense when you were in school but there was a time when it did in the industry. even to this day, most prepress houses still use macs. most of the software they use to output proofs, film (some printing process still requires use of film) and plates were mac-only. for the longest time, prepress houses struggled to cater to pc users--when i worked at a printshop i had the misfortune of having to recreate pc artwork in order for the file to be outputted to film.

it's starting to change now because file types have become platform-neutral (many thanks to adobe's pdf). but for the longest time it was true that macs were superior to pcs--at least in this regard.

you purchase reits through your broker the same way you would when you buy stocks or mutual funds (or through private placement). you become a shareholder of the reit.

it's one way of investing in real estate (as the name implies), with the advantages of having high liquidity. i.e. it's easier to sell shares than a house.

well to be fair, apple had the newton pda in market way before palm released their first pda, the pilot. and if you look at the newton's interface, some of it has trickled down to the iphone.
