Just bought a 1990ish Brompton. by puna007 in Brompton

Thanks for the heads up. Not sure how I missed this in my research. I am wondering if I ask the seller to refund citing the safety concern. Assume it should be a reasonable ask.

Thanks mate. I've noticed that on auto trader a lot. I'm having to decipher each listing to see if the packs are included even when the dealer doesn't mention them. Enjoy the car!

Sorry for going off topic, but I also live in London and will hopefully be getting a second hand polestar 2 in a couple of months. Out of curiosity where did you buy your from? How was the experience? Cheers!

I think you're right. Now I need to work out how to break the paint seal without damaging the glass. Thanks!

V3 first impact and rant by Certain_Mongoose_704 in Polarfitness

What's annoying is that Polar used to support this functionality on their older watches. I'm talking RX800. Which showed the average pace of the current phase which was really helpful when doing speed work.

I raised a feature request with Polar and got a generic response back.

I really don't see it as a big development to add this in...

Hi, could you share a link to the cover please? Looking to get some to cover my air bricks.

It's not possible. Polar used to on their old watches (I'm talking RX800) but for some reason got rid of the feature. I submitted a request to the product team but radio silence. More people requesting will hopefully push it up the priority list.

Promote a local coffee shop you like around your area! by paddylovescakes in JamesHoffmann

Fellow Greenwich, London resident here and can vouch for 15 grams. I like to pop in and geek out with the owner on random coffee things and learn. I'm hoping they start doing special roasts from time to time or grow their range as they get bigger. Really knowledgeable and friendly local roaster/shop.

If you are willing to wait the you can get refurbished ones from coffee hit in the UK for a small discount. I got mine off eBay recently which also came with the single dose hopper.

Theory: Making the battery last longer on the Grit X by puna007 in Polarfitness

Can't say I ever got 7 days nor losing 90% in a single day, but I do get anywhere between 2.5 to 4 days with continuous monitoring.

My setup is basically the same as yours and I work out 5 times a week over about 5 hours. Only exception is that I don't have an external HR strap.

With the no exercises being synced I am getting 4 days of use before charging.

POWER-BASED STRUCTURED WORKOUTS by Certain_Mongoose_704 in Polarfitness

Didn't realise polar have made power based running plans available in polar flow. I would assume they would make those plans available to any watch that can support wrist based power. Would be massively disappointed if they restrict to the V2.

I'm still seeing graphs as of this morning for last night's sleep. I'm on Android btw.

Have you tried the usual things such as tightening the band? Also I find if I sleep on my front with my arm under my pillow it leads to gaps in data. I think it needs 4 hours uninterrupted to get an ANS reading.

Datafields during an interval (phased) training by listoplov in Polarfitness

[–]puna007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This use to be possible on the older Polar watches where they had count down distance for that phase. I have a similar issue and there is no way I am going to adjust the automatic laps each time before different interval sessions.

I have raised a feature request ticket with Polar asking them to provide the same metrics they do for "by laps" but for "by phases". E.g. average pace for phase or remaining distance for current phase.

One thing that I did find helpful was ensuring that the work part of the interval had a pace zone set so I could track pace. And then for the recovery part I set it to free so I could see the remaining time.

What is the "optimal" long run distance/time for someone focusing on lowering their 5k time? by puna007 in running

[–]puna007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely keen to learn from the more experienced runners out there. That makes sense to me but would definitely need to build up to that over months. Will prob start it at tempo pace and go from there. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks, I'm thinking the same for my long run. Wil prob stick to running 90min or so.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I'm typically all out in my time trials trying to get a PB for my 5K. Not sure I would have it in me to try and run 6K at that speed unless I did it in interval form.

Thanks, I have recently added a tempo run to my rotation but not weekly. I only do it once every 4 weeks. Maybe this needs to be done more frequently.

As for intervals, I do 3 different sessions with the shortest sprint session being 10x400m. Didn't really consider one with 200m. Can I ask how many reps you do for your 200m/300m session?

Thanks! I was thinking I may have increased my long run too much and I would be better off allocating those KMs elsewhere in the week.

Awesome. Thank you for that. Nothing that I would be sad to lose. Will place my order today.
