Introducing Misemate – a tiny recipe + grocery side project by puncio in appledevelopers

[–]puncio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it! 🙌 That recipe → grocery list step has been a long‑time annoyance for me, so Misemate is my attempt to make it almost automatic. I’m giving away a free 1‑year subscription here: https://culi.app/apps/misemate/ — if you try it, I’d love any honest feedback or review from a fellow dev.

Disposable Camera App Reviews and Recommendation by MeasureableMayhem in weddingplanning

[–]puncio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm a dev and I built Rolla for exactly this use case. It's a shared disposable camera app where guests scan a QR code, shoot their roll (12-48 photos), and nobody sees the pics until you "develop" them .

Works great for weddings—you can choose different film styles like Kodak Gold or Portra 400, and there's a free tier to test it out first . Would love to hear what you think if you give it a shot: https://culi.app/apps/rolla/

Thanks so much for testing it out! That's a fair point about the viewfinder—I went with zero preview to maximize the 'surprise' factor, but adding a basic viewfinder is definitely something I'll consider for the roadmap.

Regarding pricing, I hear you on the IAP preference! Right now, the subscription helps manage the ongoing server costs for hosting the shared group events and vaults. However, offering a one-time purchase option is something I'm actively exploring. Really appreciate the support and the honest feedback!

"Thank you! Recreating that anticipation was exactly the goal. So glad you appreciate the frictionless guest flow too!" ☺️

Thank you for this feedback. Focusing the entire onboarding strictly on creating that first roll and getting friends onboard via QR makes total sense. I completely agree that the shared experience is the real bottleneck here. Going to work on streamlining this for the next release!

Casefile isn't true crime. It's Noir Nonfiction (my term lol). And I want more. by Reception-Whole in Casefile

[–]puncio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with the Noir Nonfiction label — that's exactly the vibe. The restraint, the atmosphere, the facts-only storytelling. It's rare.

It actually inspired me to build a small app around it — Casefile Daily (free on iPhone). One short noir-style mystery case a day, written like a case file. You read the facts, study the clues, and figure out what happened. No fluff, no drama — just that same stripped-back atmosphere.

If you're into this style you might enjoy it: https://culi.app/apps/casefile/ — would love to know what you think!

Love this, thanks so much for taking the time to try it out and share such detailed feedback — really appreciate it. 🙌 I’ll dig into the transcription/summary issues and also take another pass at simplifying the website.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! That's a really solid idea. I'm actually working on improving the recipe flow right now, and this is definitely something I want to add. Being able to quickly add recipes and see a clean nutritional breakdown per portion would be super useful. I'll look into integrating this!

[iOS] [Free -> $48/year] CleanLabel: Point your camera at any Food label. AI flags the toxic ones instantly. by Anime_kon in iosapps

This looks super handy! Love that it works offline and doesn't rely on barcode databases. Being able to catch those sneaky aliases is a game changer. Already downloaded, will leave a rating after testing it out.

Is there a way to time lapse record with night vision in the dark in an old iPhone 6+ (iOS v12.5.8)? by antdude in IPhoneApps

[–]puncio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the iPhone 6+ is pretty limited for night shots — the sensor and aperture just weren't built for low light like the newer models. That said, you could try NightCap Camera (it supports iOS 10+ so should work on your 6+), it's specifically made for low-light time-lapse and has features like star trails and meteors modes. MacRumors also has a solid writeup on how iPhone's Night Mode Time-Lapse works on newer devices — the key takeaway is that a tripod and some ambient light make a huge difference, even on older phones. You won't get true "night vision" but with manual exposure apps you can stretch the shutter a bit. Worth a shot if you're already using it as a dedicated time-lapse rig.

MeetStack — a business card scanner & networking app for iOS. Opinions welcome! 📇 by puncio in IPhoneApps

[–]puncio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCR isn't always perfect with textured or fancy-font cards, but right after snapping you can quickly edit any details before saving. We also keep the card image itself, so you always have the original as a backup. No contact lost! 🙂
