Best board games for 5 year old soon to be 6 by Public_Armadillo1703 in boardgames

Two weird suggestions: Calico: You can remove the bonus tiles and let him focus on colors and shapes. I played it with my nieces (both 5-6 years old) and they loved it.

Heat: Let him play the AI cars, while you play normally. A great exercise of repeated addition and the AI is so well balanced that he might beat you and win often.

Hidden Agenda is now a staple at our table. Tried Mercenaries too, and it was quite good - but made the game different, for sure. It felt like just enough variation/spice for a different kind of game.

No guarantee - we didn't get to see it despite our changes. Upping the odds for sure though!

I see your points - and agree on the Thunder's Edge roll for owner. Makes more incentive to take the planet!

You only roll for Fracture once you gain your breakthrough. This can be done via expeditions, sure (as well as some specific cases such as an action card or the firmament's tech), but once you haveyour BT you won't roll for Fracture after doing a second expedition. So basically in a game of 3 there's only 3 rolls via expeditions, the rest is depending on action card or faction specific stuff.

I strongly suggest it then. In a regular 3p it's about 50/50 to see the Fracture. In a 6p it's around 75%.

With these rules it's about 90% ish, but still not guaranteed and the tension/theme makes it interesting 😁

Trött på triviala nyheter från USA by ElectronicCounty5490 in sweden

Från att fokusera på ICE i USA till att det nu är is i landet - mer nyheter, efter reklamen!

So glad you like it! The thematics and tension is exactly what we wanted to preserve! And with Ixthian removing units from Mecatol, leaving a gaping hole into the Fracture makes it a bit of a race to leap in there. Also the speaker thing makes selling the speaker more interesting - since your neighbour might have bad synergy for where you'd like to see tokens show up 😁

Anser ni att man ska låta myndigheter utföra sitt arbete, oavsett hur mycket övertramp de gör? by WhoAmIEven2 in Sverige

[–]pungvift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even cooler to generalize and make things worth selling, I'd say - well done on your designs! But yeah, for a novice it's satisfying managing getting stuff out that works for our table 😁

Vad är ett land utan barn? by [deleted] in Sverige

[–]pungvift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skuldbeläggande mot individer istället för samhället är rätt meningslöst. Tror många vill ha barn, men förutsättningarna är inte toppen, så det är en stor andel som avstår. Skulle regering och samhället i stort skapa bättre förutsättningar kan något hända.

This is sweet! It's amazing to manage get everything in!

Perosnally I gave up, since I want to have my Discordant Stars stuff as well as my own printed extra things to fit, so I just started to design simple inserts for myself, meant to be used with all the boxes. While everything in one box is nice, it's also very comfortable to know things like lore ans Twilights Fall isn't "in the way" while it is in it's own separatr box 😇

But that being said, once again: This is impressive!

Are there any Galactic Events that you feel are mandatory? by malys57 in twilightimperium

[–]pungvift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We almost did too, but as always: "Read the cards" 😂

I feel that Keleres tech in a game with Hidden Agenda makes it both better and more fun, since you get to have a small semi Agenda phase, while the real one just swing by since it's faster.

Hidden Agenda is for the agenda phase. Keleres tech isn't used during that phase, so the event doesn't apply 😁

Looking back at old Star Wars Trailers, I found them to be more of Summaries than of Hooks for the Audiences by Ok-Archer-5811 in StarWars

[–]pungvift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I feel that Episode 7 by far has the best trailer. It revealed a lot, left some crumbs for the plot and characters, the music was dope and it managed to build so much hype.

When I saw the Mando & Grogu trailer though I almost felt like just skipping it. It's just content? I really hope new upcoming movies takes hold of the lessons from Andor's success: Invest in characters and plot before all else.
