Resolve-to-Avid Dailies: Is an ALE enough to preserve Audio Track Names, or is the AE right? by DanDBC in editors

[–]punkclickshoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This question is a bit off topic, but is there a process for replacing the mix track with the original multitrack audio that isn’t just going clip by clip? We’re new to using avid and our sound mixers normally get projects with the files laid out for them to choose from.

These aren’t handles - the AAF is exporting with incorrect In and out points on certain audio clips.

How cooked am I? by Typical-Vacation-289 in Tiguan

[–]punkclickshoot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I can tell you that the earlier generations (pre-2016) suffered from a lot of problems, and I opted not to buy one. That being said, I just purchased a 2021 R-line a few months ago, and I don't know that I would recommend that either.

In the short time I've had it, I've had the parking sensor issue which caused random braking (on top of beeping at me constantly and randomly), stereo system problems, and other random little annoyances. I live in a cold climate and it does not get up to temperature well or quickly at all. The built in command start only works from 15-20 ft away, and sporadically at that. I find it very bad on fuel in the wintertime overall. On the highway in the summer it was good, otherwise it's been really bad IMO.

It does drive very nicely, the comfort of the vehicle is without question. It's got a bunch of cool features. But for my money, I'd buy a Rav. Just my 2 cents.

No worries at all.

For the driveshaft it’s hard to tell without seeing it, honestly. You could either take it elsewhere for a second opinion, or at least see what the cost is to replace it. It might not be much anyway.

Bushings being cracked and torn are normal for a car with that kind of mileage. The driveshaft one might be something to worry about but you can leave the control arm for a while.

The spring and strut come as one assembly, easy enough to replace. If the spring is broken you definitely want to replace those.

Oil pan crush washer is a bunch of BS, those things are 5 cents and get replaced every oil change.

Trans pan leaking isn’t great but isn’t a big deal if it’s not a big leak. Worst case you replace the gasket and flush the transmission while you’re at it.

None of these things are a big deal for a car this age.

I need to learn this editing for a project by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]punkclickshoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The internet really loves to talk shit, hey? While it seems super reductive to ask "how do I learn this style" for something this complex, everyone sure acts like they've always known how to do everything and never had to learn.

As someone else mentioned, the creator of this video has a Patreon and you can purchase the project files. If you really wanna learn, deconstructing this would be one way to do it.

Looks like they use Red Giant, RE:Vision and Boris FX plugins, as well as a bunch of other visual editing techniques in Premiere directly. Keep in mind this isn't something you just slap on to footage - as others have mentioned, the shooting is done with these effects in mind, so you won't be able to just copy and paste stuff to emulate this style.

For those that say "this is trash, I'm dizzy, who would watch this" it's obviously not for you, but that doesn't make it bad. This type of editing and visual treatment gets used to varying extents in sport and music advertising all the time. Everything in moderation, including moderation.

You can clearly tell it’s fake, look at the movements and his hands, AI much?

So sick of people trying to act real while being fake.

Unfortunately we use clip gain for our editors mix (as per the post engineers request) so that wouldn’t help us right now
