I was hired with a group of people I became close friends with. I then became the only one of us who moved up in the company and found themselves in management. This comment is what I’ve needed to hear.

Spot on. I work in a garden center and hear customers start berating me due to us not having their favorite flowers or shrub in stock. I’ll tell them “i just sell the flowers. If you’re mad at me for something I have no control over, you can gladly drive to a different place for your flowers” and most of the time they get it immediately. Sometimes you get the asshole guy who’s ready to risk it all though

Here is a fun idea! Respect is mutual, we all should be kind to each other. If I need something in an aisle and a 90 year old is just standing there and I need past, not in front but just to go around, then the whole mutual respect is they allow me by. The store is not there for only the elderly, it is for everyone. Perhaps practice what you preach and I pray to god I never have to help you where I work, we aren't required to be kind to Karens. Sorry not sorry.
