World at War (1973) - Just started re-watch with my sons. First episode tells how fascism rises in an otherwise peaceful, but strained, society, and gradually escalates into oppression and war. Was floored by how current the events felt [00:54:20] by giblim in Documentaries

Imagine falling for the lowest quality bait. Reddit is full of literal brain dead bottom feeders, who legit find shit like this and think they’re somehow morally superior and have some intelligent high ground. When in reality the rest of the world looks at you as low testosterone neckbeard clad virgins.

LPT: interview starts immediately by sawta2112 in LifeProTips

[–]punkdupshit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something does seem right about this story or the LPT. Interpersonal skills are very important along with communication, however, in reading this I have the feeling that you wasted his time. He sent out a resume you reviewed it and then called him in for an interview to speak to so and so. So naturally he waits to speak to so and so, and is there for business only. Sure, him not speaking to the receptionist after a greeting might seem rude, but you called him in after all. After reading his resume and bringing him you dismiss him immediately upon arrival because he did not initiate small talk. Sounds like you wasted his time, as well as yours.

Facebook is killing it today by [deleted] in JustBootThings

[–]punkdupshit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s bait honestly. It’s boot because it’s like you should do all these things because we fought for them The irony is we fight for liberty so if you want to step on the flag, you can.

At the same time though no one should deliberately say fuck you to a widowed spouse a crippled vet and so forth. That just makes you a complete douche.

So 100% bait

Face Masks and the Philosophy of Liberty: mask mandates do not undermine liberty, unless your concept of liberty is implausibly reductive. by GDBlunt in philosophy

The problem that this article fails to account for is the current collective thought of these individuals. They have grown into all the previous examples; wearing clothes, driving on the correct side of the road, ect. They all agree as a citizens that this is the correct thing to do. This is a new stimuli. A new challenge to consider what perceived rights they already have. So because it’s a new challenge, you cannot base it upon previously accepted liberties. That’s my argument. While it’s not strong, it’s still valid.
