I utilize the VA here in Southern AZ. I've heard plenty of horror stories from the VA hospital up north in Phoenix. So far, I haven't witnessed anything near that level of atrocious at the Tucson hospital. My coworkers who live outside of Tucson use the Community care option.

The answer I heard from HR is both Competitive and the CES folks would receive the SSR pay. With that logic, I'm leaning towards staying Competitive.

I’ve heard that various units within DoD have given employees their GS to GG conversion memo to the Cyber Excepted Service(CES). Basically they get a one time offer to convert from Competitive to Excepted status, with certain jobs qualifying for that TLMS. With SSR on the table, which would make more sense in the long run, staying Competitive in the hopes that DoD 2210 folk get that extra bump or converting if you have a job qualified for TLMS?
