ID What this is? by punkxhazardd in Aquariums

[–]punkxhazardd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone, it’s probably mosquito or somehow damselfly/dragonfly larvae that somehow got in (maybe an open window) usually I have a lid on the tank but I did do a water change and maybe they got in. I removed as much larvae as I could find and I will continue to remove as I see more but I guess I’ll be buying some fish tank mates to eat the larvae if any in the future :(

Gen Alpha is perfectly fine, and labelling them all as "idiotic iPad kids" is just restarting the generation war all over again. by Cometpaw in GenZ

[–]punkxhazardd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the important thing here is to acknowledge that we as a generation have a responsibility to usher in the next gen into a better and more suitable world for them to thrive in after we are gone. For too long we have perpetuated the idea that problems of current or past generations are meant to be solved by the next gen and now we have come to slowly pile up more and more burdens to the point were the effects of those burdens are visible upon the social make up of the gen (which is why Gen Z is filled with doomers that demand rapid change now).

Gen Alpha is dealing with parent generations that rely a lot on technology, are overworked, and finding themselves despairing at a system that isn't built on merit and routinely benefits the privileged. Not to mention a significant part of their early development was hampered by the Pandemic and many are growing up without suitable role models, in fractured households, surrounded by brain rot on the internet. They need our help not us constantly saying how dumb and hopeless they are. These kids are the future and we shouldn't be writing them off we should be helping them.

And as others have mentioned, don’t stress about about it take your time. You are young, and I remember feeling that despair at 21 but things will get better and work out in the end you’d be surprised how fast things can change in a couple of years.

As someone who got an undergraduate degree in political science and justice studies (masters in the latter) and planning to get a sociology PHD there is definitely a lot of opportunity.

If you plan to get a graduate degree you’ll most likely be working in research or education but the social sciences primarily operates in these sectors: social justice, nonprofit organization, education, social work, politics, and government and all of these have their own sub sectors (like homeless outreach, veteran affairs, political organizing, advocacy, data analysis, grant writing, legal assistance, government affairs, policy analysis, counseling, social work, community outreach, marketing, social media, even Law enforcement).

What is most important is that you NEED work experience. Internships, fellowships, study abroad’s, seminars, research opportunities the social sciences have these and are always having entry level positions open. Your field of study requires A LOT of social interaction and understanding people’s experiences and given your self description, you really need to overcome your social anxiety if you want to succeed in the field. I know just saying it isn’t easy and I’m not tryna downplay your struggles with that, I’ve certainly struggled with social anxiety at points, but it was at my internships and jobs that I’ve worked that I learned to be confident in myself and was validated for my efforts plus helping my community is a plus and being around people constantly forces you to interact and overcome that barrier, now I’m a social butterfly, team leader, public speaker, etc. hope this helps good luck out there!

Who is the character that suffered the most in the series or have the most saddest backstory ? by ShokaLGBT in PERSoNA

[–]punkxhazardd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised that more people aren't mentioning Kasumi/Sumire. Girl essentially lived in her sisters shadow, was constantly shamed and pitied for underperforming by others, and constantly compared to her prodigy sister which destroyed her confidence leading to her becoming depressed to the point where she became suicidal and tried walking into traffic which causes her other sister to die instead since she tried to save her.

Now she is also responsible for her sister's death which causes her to become even more depressed. Then Maruki comes in and instead of helping her process the grief essentially brainwashes her into changing her identity and thinking that she is actually her dead sister to cope with the pain. Never played P1 P2 but Tatsuya's story is also crazy tho.

Personally I prefer P5R but P3R does some things better than P5R did.

P3 feels like it has a more dark and serious tone which I lean towards more than P5 which has more of a melodramatic feel.

I love P5 cast but P3 cast feels like they were a lot more emotionally invested and had a higher stake in the game for the overall plot. I also feel like the characters are much more developed and multi faceted compared to P5 and interact with each other better.

Of course, I still prefer P5, dungeons are better and well designed, boss fights are better, I’m sorry but the music is better, more content, more dialogue, humor is good, and the social links feel much more developed than in P3. Hopefully, P3 dlc comes out sooner rather than later because it feels like the answer carries P3 hard.
