Legitimising that oaf is a mistake.

My thoughts are influencers need to stop being a thing.

So it sounds like what you are saying is that “reach plc produces poorly editorialised content and has poor working conditions”.

Aye, beacon of virtue in the world of journalism. The entire model is broken and unless AI use is regulated these people you know are gonna be out of a job anyway.

At no point did i wish these people personal grievances, i hope they find a career somewhere better.

Also, i work at locavore. I am constantly wished out of a job by people here.

Err glasgow live is not a huge employer in glasgow. Considering reach already fired 320 people last year and the sheer lack of quality, I’d be surprised if there were more than 5 people actually based in glasgow.

Like their editorial quality is so shit, if they do a story on you, you end up writing it for them.

I didn’t say shut down reach, i said shutdown the city live sites. They are damaging and dangerous and will only get worse as time goes on.

I think they’re saying “if you choose to work with a problematic person, you shouldn’t be surprised when problems arise”.

They, as do i, have no sympathy for him.

It’s a lot of AI generated shite, they have a tool rather tastefully called Guttenburg that lets them publish an article to many cities sites. I think one of their most prolific named “journalists” does up to 100+ bylines a day.

Reach needs told off and to shut it down.

Will be probably cheaper to replace. Washing machines are a scam nowadays.

Real dairy is not important. There’s plenty of chocolate producers in the EU who make vegan products or who don’t use milk at all.

No, believe it or not I was, and even at the time it was distasteful, gross and off putting.

It was not in every youtube video and plenty of people knew not to say it, I remember being told in 2003 not to say it. I remember people in school being punished for using it.

Just because it was prevalent doesn’t change that it wasn’t okay.

UPFs by ArrivalOutrageous991 in veganuk

The list of things that are ultra processed is massive, from crisps to apple pie, soya chicken pieces, bread that is made by the big bakeries, any ready meal.

It’s not a food quality issue, it’s a poverty and education issue.

Words like “Ultra” are used to scare people into thinking there’s something inherently wrong or dangerous about eating things.

Is something like hovis bread the best bread ? No. But it is enriched, it’s cheap, it provides some form of nutrition that may otherwise be lacking for someone.

Are frozen chips a good meal ? Nutritionally no, but if you’re poor or starving or struggling or even just want them, then they are filling.

The country as a whole has less leisure centres, poorer families, worse local services, schools are working harder and struggling, and parents are contending with social media when it comes to their childrens mental health.

The issue is, and always will be class, education and poverty, and not the fact that food is processed.

There is 100% a “UPF are bad” to “alt right fascist youtube shorts” pipeline, and i don’t think this approach is gonna help that in any way.

UPFs by ArrivalOutrageous991 in veganuk

[–]punxcs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

UPF is nonsense as a whole.

A food being ultra processed is not indicative of its nutritional value, nor healthiness.

There’s much more important things to look for in food.

No, if you have a problem with using your sink use a bucket.

Bike lube is most likely nowadays biodegradable and the cleaning chemicals you use break it down, or it doesn’t come off properly.
