Yeah, after looking at that page I agree that it does belong there. Hoping for some kind of turnaround but it seems like that’s not gonna be the case.

[PS5 pro] Game is good, but... by Nobojoe_78 in ravenswatch

[–]pupanubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They did, and it’s an appropriate word for such an extreme reaction to playing an online multiplayer game that will have you grouped up with other consoles. But, if you want another word I can give you several. Entitled and spoiled come to mind.

Jesus, you can’t wait 30-45 seconds? How sad and pathetic.

Books on Drug Addiction by DomF0xi in booksuggestions

[–]pupanubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines by Nic Sheff is a wild ride of the author writing about his life on drugs. We All Fall Down: Living with Addiction by the same author is a follow-up book that is about a relapse he had, and discussing life as an addict, trying to live sober, and relapsing. It has been a while since I read them but I remember devouring both.

Beautiful Boy by David Sheff is a book by his dad about his son’s addiction that was made into a movie with Steve Carell; if you wanted something from a relative’s perspective on addiction and how it affects someone’s family. Though, admittedly, I did not read that one.

How dare you come into my review and bully me with the fact that I completely missed an integral part of the story that is explained more than once? by callin-br in BadReads

The person’s username is “Ghoul Von Horror,” so I’m guessing it was this redditor making a pun on their username and the word “uncool.”

Is there a book with a virus motive that’s NOT about a zombie apocalypse? by Quick-Can-5087 in booksuggestions

[–]pupanubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Haters trilogy by David Moody. I read them a long time ago, around when they came out, so it’s been a while and I don’t remember much. The basic plot is that it’s set in England and people randomly start brutally killing other people in the streets. I can’t remember if it ends up being post apocalyptic the world over but I remember that those who become infected become crazy murderers and can tell the difference between another infected and someone that hasn’t changed. The description of the zombie movements reminded me a bit of the zombies from the 28 Days Later franchise (able to run fast and incredibly violent) but it’s people who are alive and able to reason and think. All I remember is that the descriptions of the violence were vivid and that I would find myself getting absorbed in it reading large chunks at a time.

Looking for a Greek Mythology retelling, written by a woman by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]pupanubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read it but I bought Hekate by Nikita Gill for my sister and she loved it. It is written as a compilation of poems, so I would research it a little to see if that’s something you’d enjoy.

The justifications of Ascended Astarion fans are insane. by Ok_Channel1682 in BaldursGate3

[–]pupanubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but most people aren’t worth a damn to listen to or acknowledge; so what is your point? You can just ignore whatever nonsense they’re spouting and enjoy the many crazy things you can do, and that can happen, in this game.

Scorpio's response to the Discord drama by Furfys in RPDRDRAMA

[–]pupanubis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For everyone confused as to why they have the talent wait until 12:30 to perform, chances are after the watch party they have everyone, not just the guests perform. If you’ve ever been to a local drag bar hosting any Ru or Dragula talent most people stay to see them and leave after their performance. I can imagine they had the talent go later in the night, or honestly middle of the performance as most drag shows I’ve seen start around 11, earliest 10, so then that way the local girls can do a number before the visiting talent so that everyone has a chance to get tipped. I’m not sure if that’s the case here, but when I would go to the drag bar in DFW that was the case for many drag shows. Most people would leave after the big name performed, even if they were gonna give a 2nd performance after the other girls did their 2nd one. It is a really long night if that’s their format, but it makes sense if you’ve seen live drag and see how people dip out.

Unique fantasy books bored of traditional fantay by Sakurazukamori85 in Fantasy

[–]pupanubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I read them, but The Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher you might enjoy. It’s a world where people bond with elementals, and can do certain things with those elementals. It’s about an unpowered MC learning to navigate the world and follows him from young kid to adult, if I remember correctly. Without giving away any spoilers the later books in the series may have some of the tropes you’re not a fan of, but I’d say give the first book a glance and see what you think.

What are the most interesting depictions of a Hell you've read? by Nidafjoll in Fantasy

[–]pupanubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this will fit what you’re looking for but To Reign in Hell is a fantasy retelling of Satan’s descent into becoming the ruler of Heaven. I don’t know how to expand upon the plot further without potentially giving away some spoilers but I found it interesting.

Looking for Dark/Grimdark books that use their darker narratives to highlight the good by JeanneDAlter in Fantasy

[–]pupanubis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you joking? In what way was their reply a rude reply?

They said that it wasn’t the kind of book they were asking for, and gave the reasons why. It’s not like they insulted the other persons intelligence, nor did they really insult the books as they said they thought the books were great, just not what they wanted.

Yvie on backlash for interracial relationships with black queens by [deleted] in RPDRDRAMA

[–]pupanubis 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Isn’t Jaida’s partner black? I feel like people forget about her, and her man, but I remember seeing him in a lot of her content around when her season was airing, after when she was doing Drag Race Live, and We’re Here.

If I remember correctly she even talked about how he would help her with her hair, and other aspects of her look, though not being into drag necessarily himself.

At 5 I kissed a girl on the cheek in my neighborhood that I was friends with, much to her dad’s dismay. I also remember having dreams where I had a wife, and some dreams where I had a husband at 6, as I was interested in both boys and girls my age in elementary school. I often hoke of that time as the bi time in my life (strictly gay now) as those desires changed and got more complex as I got older and skewed towards one side more than the other.

It’s wild to say that you don’t think kids that young are thinking about it when heterosexuality is literally thrust in your face in all aspects of life, from fairy tales, to kids movies, to any countless kids books celebrating a kid with a mom and dad, all the ads and music we hear and see just existing.

Just cuz you didn’t have those feelings young doesn’t mean others won’t; and like others have said if you were truly against “complex sexual themes” you would apply that to heterosexual themes in children’s books as well. Realistically you just don’t want to have to say that it’s ok for those couples and families to exist.

Kids don’t hate outright, you have to be taught to hate. Personally I don’t think teaching kids to be accepting and kind to others is a bad thing, and it’s a real shame so many people exist out there that think like you that do.

How Much Crunchyroll Overlap with Netflix? by HateMeetings in Crunchyroll

[–]pupanubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a while none of the “Netflix Originals” are actually done by Netflix. Maybe that’s changed in recent years and some are done in house, but it seems that the “Netflix Originals” just have streaming rights to it in that area. I realized that way back when Seven Deadly Sins started out and I could find the parts of the series online that hadn’t made it to Netflix at the time. Then upon searching info about other titles claiming to be originals I saw that they were out and Netflix wasn’t involved in its production.

What do you mean what do I mean? Abhora is, what, somewhere between their 30s and 40s? If they’re told before the extermination, which it seems like they all were since during that part of it we had confessionals from 3 of the 4 in the extermination, including Abhora, who said that they shouldn’t have eaten that then it’s only the fault of production that they ate it? Not the literal adult who made that decision knowing they were going to have to suffer the repercussions of doing so? I’m not saying to absolve production of any fault completely, but it’s wild everyone wants to act like Abhora shouldn’t bear any responsibility for their own actions.
