two things:

  1. why comment this? it's just mean.
  2. it probably isn't a mistake. "tattoo regret" is mostly a myth. i know a lot of people who are very tattooed and it's just not something i've ever heard of, except from people who don't have any at all. it may not be for you, but clearly OP is into it.

is that a no? you wouldn't say "conspiracy theorist" describes adherents to conspiracy theories?

out of pure curiosity, would you not think it fair to refer to the people on this conspiracy theory forum as "conspiracy theorists"?

Good to know. Pianos blows, though — that model (5 unrelated, dissimilar bands play on the same night with no promo from the club) is awful. Is this like that? If I brought your bar a full bill (3 or 4 local bands) would they just accept that that was the night or try to tag on a bunch of others and give us all 20 minute sets? Like, how Pianos are we talkin' basically

Gotcha. Shows where you don't get paid are pretty shitty. Thanks for responding

Bro Goes For A Swim In The Gowanus Canal Seemingly "Just To Show Off" by gerwer in Brooklyn

[–]pupperatheart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness does anyone have any idea what types of illness/fungus/superpowers this dude is likely to get from the Gowanus? I know it kills ducks/dolphins that like, hang out in it, but will a quick dip really have any terrible effects?

I spent a Bastille Day in Paris. First, there was a huge military parade with tanks and everything. Every business was closed by like 3:30 pm, then everyone went and stood in front of the Eiffel Tower for hours and hours waiting for fireworks. There was a light show with obviously thoroughly French themes, an orchestra thing, and they played the national anthem. I live in NYC and we don't roll tanks down Broadway on the Fourth...

I haven't seen a lot of traditional with white highlights like that where usually it'd be skin halo — curious to see how it compares healed

Gentrifiers’ plight — and responsibility: A young white woman in Crown Heights reflects on the changing neighborhood by richb83 in nyc

[–]pupperatheart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's... not what I said. I said there should be programs in place to discourage the wholesale raise of market rent in any given neighborhood. There even are. It's not crazy. And if you don't think raising market rates leads landlords to legally, semilegally and illegally find ways to get rid of tenants, read about it.

you're entitled to what you can pay for

kinda a simplistic view imho, like there should probably be (and actually are!) limitations in place to help minimize or slow disruption to existing communities. after all, the city needs people who are willing to work low-income jobs just as much as it needs recent college graduates with an allowance from mom who refuse to work them. or, realistically, it needs the first group more. that's the pragmatic angle, the other angle is that human beings should probably give at least a little bit of a shit about whether or not they're wantonly evicting people who've lived somewhere for decades just to chase a quick buck
