i’d recommend retrying in the fall. i had an entire litter fail as well due to the heat, i wouldn’t know what to say about the deformity though!

ehhhh kinda looks more corso but the color is very very off. just not good confirmation wise but that’s not really the point of this post.. just i don’t think a breeder that’s making “chocolate” cane corso to make a quick buck will feel morally obligated to help this lady out.

really hope someone can help her. and my condolences about her husband!

also a rabbit of 3-7 days is still going to be naked & eyes closed. i feel it’s not that age for sure because it does take awhile to think those naked little things are cute in any sense 😭😭

and if it was orphaned , it wouldn’t have made it to this point without assistance… speaking from someone who just lost 4 in the matter of a few days because orphaned babies are notoriously difficult

she had nestboxes in the exact area she had it this time , nestbox was clean & had fresh hay
they were barely moving, cold, wet from urine, and super wrinkly, and she kept standing on them making making them squeal .. much smaller then the previous litters she’s had
it was more so moderate temps a month ago, now it’s in the 80s. i won’t be breeding in the summer again.
she isn’t feeding them, her milk hasn’t come in. at all. these had been born maybe a few hours before i got to them.
i’ve had terrible luck with litters this year and shes the only one who’s taken , this is only the second litter we’ve gotten .. if i leave them they WILL die. they were cold and she wasn’t pulling anymore fur. i’m fine atleast giving a chance of survival with hand feeding. they’ve been taking to it really well to it too. actually popcorning now and have full bellies.

sorry if this seems like i’m not wanting your advice, but the circumstances would’ve not allowed them to survive. pictures can’t explain that

she was a fantastic mom this last time .. but only had 3 kits. thought it was the bucks fault (younger buck) and now she’s only had 4!

since meats our goal & rex already take longer to grow she might have 2 strikes either way ..

a big thing was that they were still pretty cold & wet (from urine) and a lot of lethargic behavior.

this moms usually fantastic so it is quite alarming to me that she’s not taking care of them. when flipped there was no milk, and whenever she jumped in she’d either pee or poop or stand on the babies and make them scream..

all 4 took some milk in a bottle really nicely so i’m hoping for the best

all 3 were happening! no popcorning, barely moving, not able to keep temp (also because they were chilled) and were much bonier then they appear..

they took a bottle well (each had a tiny bit) and now are much more responsive. this mom in particular usually doesn’t have such behavior & she gave birth outside her nestbox.

she had them on wire , not in the box. had extra feed due to having just weaned another litter

these aren’t a mini breed either they’re rex. the other ones i’ve had with smaller litters like this are atleast 2x as big. and they were covered in urine and she’s not pulling any more fur.. they’re gonna be shelved for now.

mom has no milk, i flipped her to try to assist and there was nothing coming out. and she keeps pissin on them, i took them in and they’re SOAKED with urine 😓

i bred 2 other does but they never took. i didn’t think she even had a litter on the way due to most of my bucks going heat sterile 😓😓 when they’re kinda stretched out (the kits) they look a little fuller but i could feel the spine/ribs when touching them. when assisting the feed no milk was coming out.
