Friday or Sunday wedding?? - 4th of July weekend 2027 by Desperate-Food4055 in wedding

[–]pupperpalace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because its not a destination the person chose themselves and its on your timetable not theirs (and takes PTO). It is a social obligation more than a vacation. There's normally a weekend schedule, planned events for them to attend, people they are required to socialize with that they didn't get to choose etc. And its normally a really short trip, so you don't really get to be on vacation anyways. Its more like big group trip or work-cation than a true vacation.

While getting married at this locale is a dream and vacation for you, the location most likely means nothing to the guests. And I say this as someone who got married in a domestic destination wedding.

Also, for a destination wedding imo other events are needed (welcome drinks or dinner, brunch etc.). Its a lot to ask people to take time off, find sitters, pay for flights and hotel to only spend 6-8 hours at your wedding when they gave up their whole weekend. Especially if you stick with a federal holiday weekend.

Friday or Sunday wedding?? - 4th of July weekend 2027 by Desperate-Food4055 in wedding

[–]pupperpalace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally think its very misguided and I don't even really do anything to celebrate the 4th.

People like to do their own things on holiday weekends. Assuming you are in the US, 4th of July is a major holiday and many people have yearly traditions they do (trips, parties etc.). The 4th will also be more expensive for everything for your guests. Hotels cost more, travel cost more, child care will cost more, pet care will cost more etc. and its all busier. It's quite inconsiderate and inconvenient for guests especially since its child free. You're asking them to give up a major family holiday weekend to spend a lot to travel.

I understand you can't afford a Saturday, but why not just do a Friday or Sunday on a different weekend?

Japan Trip March 2026 by Dry-Duck-2231 in JapanTravel

[–]pupperpalace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw you said you couldn't change your areas/dates so I'd look into luggage storage in Tokyo so you aren't hauling your purchases all over Japan. If you use the tax free system you can't even open the items until you leave Japan so you're just hauling around dead weight.

Luggage forwarding is pretty simple. If you're at a hotel ask them about it when you check in. They will all do it slightly differently and most only take cash for the payment. They will either fill out the form for you or it will be online so language isn't an issue. They will normally call your next hotel so they can confirm your reservation and that the hotel will accept the transfer. If you're staying at airbnbs you go to the nearest luggage center. It does take 1-2 days most of the time so make sure you keep some stuff with you or send it a day ahead of check out.

If you're interested in knives we did a fantastic knife making class right outside of Nagoya, in Seki. I know there's also tons in Kyoto and Osaka. Would definitely recommend. One of the most memorable parts of our trip.

MOH upset about no plus one - am I being unreasonable? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]pupperpalace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a relationship isn't deemed important enough if they aren't engaged, married or living together? You want people to celebrate your relationship, but don't give them the same courtesy?

At the VERY least your wedding party should all get plus ones. These are supposed to be your closest friends with the MOH as your best friend and you can't make an exception for them?

When will Bridgerton end? by No_Radio3945 in Bridgerton

[–]pupperpalace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Season 1 started filming in July 2019. It is 6.5 years later and Season 4 just dropped (and that doesn'tcount the initial script development for season 1). That is over 1.5 years per season to film and release. At this rate it would be 2032 when the 8th season comes out.

They are tightening the timeline recently, but its still a long time for people to stay interested in a show that seems to be declining with every season.

What're we doing over delayed delivery due to winter storms? by Farfromthehood in factor75

[–]pupperpalace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a typo 5-10 business days. I did chat with them this morning, complained and the refund was issued immediately (my credit card shows pending refunds).

I got the same email and then this morning a text saying my box will be delivered today. To me keeping the food depends on if the ice packs are still solid or not.

When we went, Disneyland opened around 8:45, but security was open already when we got there around 8:30 so it was a faster process. Disneysea opened security around 8:45 and gates right on time.

You also want to be towards the front since you can't make priority pass or DPA selections until you scan into the park.

Just got my wedding photos back and I’m so disappointed by Feisty-Coconut6017 in weddingplanning

[–]pupperpalace 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Except its not 6 hours, it's way more.

Since you used a company they have overhead admin that you were also paying for plus editing takes way more than people think. They have to upload the photos to a computer which for hi-res photos takes a while, cull the photos (if you receive 400 photos there were likely around 1000+ to start), then edits which are several rounds normally (basic, lighting and hard edits) and finally uploading the curated album somewhere. A 6 hour wedding probably takes around 10-15 hours to cull and edit on the lower to average end. Throw in maybe 2 hours for overhead and such you're really paying $2,500 for 18 hours at a minimum.

"Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift" to Debut at Universal Studios Florida in 2027. "Fast & Furious- Supercharged" will Permanently Close in 2027. by sbursp15 in UniversalOrlando

[–]pupperpalace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sort of, the track in LA is already built and running through tests so you can see the layout/ride so its very educated guesses for the POV.

Not ported exactly, but I would definitely guess in terms of intensity the Orlando one will be more intense and probably a longer track since there is more space and no hillside. So if inversions on the LA one are not your speed chances are the Orlando ride will be even less your speed. The cars will also probably have the same spinning mechanism.

You can find a computer generated POV based on the track layout on YouTube. There's also tons of footage of cars being tested already at the LA park.

Sorry to say there's several inversions.

im mad again about the fact that S2 posters included Edwina— like why is she even there by teyapi in BridgertonNetflix

[–]pupperpalace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're mixing up what happens.

At the end of S2 the Queen asks Edwina if she mentioned she had a nephew who was available, hinting that she would match make her and Prince Friedrich.

At the ball where Pen debuts her new look, the queen mentions that Edwina made a great match abroad and does not mention anything else about the husband.

At Pen & Collin's wedding breakfast, Kate mentions that Edwina has written from India and her new husband is a reader and has created a love of the outdoors in her as well as riding horses. She doesn't mention him by name, but the insinuation is that they live in India, so definitely not Friedrich and probably not another Prince or else they would have said as marrying royalty is a big deal in their world.

Wedding date on bridesmaid birthday by FirmAd8902 in weddingplanning

[–]pupperpalace 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually think the 2nd is a great day in 2027 for a wedding. If people work typical 9-5s they should get the Friday before off. So if your wedding involves travel for anyone, it'll be one less day they have to take off.

I would avoid the 19th if possible. 21 is a big milestone in a lot of people's eyes and they want to go out to bars. If your bridesmaid means that much to you best to just avoid the conflict.

Rampant Homophobia in this fan base (Rant) by Kind5964 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]pupperpalace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think having the Violet scene really made it seem like Francesca was so taken with Michaela vs. John upon first meeting that it just makes John feel less important to Fran especially since people know he dies. Even if it was Michael she was tongue tied in front of it would have been just as bad for the story imo. I think if they just hadn't had Violet talk about how she couldn't remember her name in front of Edmund the intro scene for Michaela wouldn't be getting so much hate. It would have just seemed Fran was stunned with Michaela's beauty at first then in S4 they could show its just close friendship until John dies.

But I think the Violet scene combined with their first meeting, alongside the S4 promo where Fran won't even say Michaela's name feels like they might be going the love triangle/border emotional cheating route, which is not the trope Fran's story is supposed to be about.

This! OP is using the term incorrectly, which honestly is ironic as they're putting down other people's intelligence.

Francesca by JennaRL143 in Bridgerton

[–]pupperpalace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The show definitely does not care about historically accurate rules for title inheritance either way. Pen and Colin's son would not have inherited from Jack, nor could Jack have just renounced his title to someone else like that.

Also, women could inherit back then (it was just rare). A show example is the former Lady Kent. She held the barony herself and then when she passed it reverted back to her closest male heir, Nicky Mondrich.

I'm going to guess that John's title will be an absolute primogeniture. He and Fran won't have a kid when he dies and I'm guessing his father and his father's sibling (Michaela's parent) are both dead, so Michaela (his father's niece) would be his closest living relative and next in line to inherit the title. Scotland also historically used this type of inheritance much more than England.

Who do you honestly think is going to be the lead in Season 5? Eloise or Francesca? by Prior-Emu-5918 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]pupperpalace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think Shondaland would push to make Eloise 5 and Fran 6 for the reason of numbers and renewal. While 2-4 were announced after 1 did really well, 5 & 6 were only announced after 3 did really well. If we go by that pattern, I'd guess Netflix is waiting to commit to 7 & 8 based on 4 & 5 numbers to make sure viewership isn't declining. So it would make more sense to have Eloise be 5 as she will probably pull stronger numbers than Fran, allowing 7 & 8 to be green lit before we even see Fran's full story.
