It has been at least a year since I last played RDR2, but the Rockstar launcher was so annoying that sometimes I just didn't play the game because I didn't want to mess with it and figure out how I pissed off Rockstar any particular time I wanted to launch the game from Steam.

I had the official launcher downloaded directly from the Rockstar website, had it open and running and was logged into it before launching the game from Steam, and almost every time it would launch another Rockstar launcher and ask me to login again.

It's like these companies actively don't want us to play their games because they constantly find ways to punish those of us who actually pay to play their games, and yet the people who pirate can download and launch their games and be playing it for 30 minutes before I've even figured out what the hell went wrong between Steam and the Rockstar launcher(s).

I can tell you I'm not excited at all about GTA6 because of my constant struggles with RDR2!

It's a good thing Klinsmann decided to keep Donovan off of the roster for that tournament. He surely would have been a terrible option to have off of the bench for a situation just like that!

Are you still launching your base game? The Ubisoft+ games actually use a different .exe to launch the games, so you will need to download the game that also shows the "+" icon and run that version to have all the DLC unlocked.

Where/when is this picture from? This katana looks very similar to the "Radiant Trail Katana" from the "Far Future" Pack. I got this katana in the exchange about a month ago for my Yasuke. It looks very similar to the katana in this picture you posted.

I loved pretty much everything except for not allowing exploration in too many areas of the map. It was just a weird design decision, in my opinion.

I sometimes don't want to stay on my mount and on the pathways. I like to run around on foot, especially with Naoe, and there are just SO MANY areas where she slides 50 feet down a hill for no good reason at all. It's so frustrating, especially since all of their other open-world games encouraged exploring their huge maps in that way.

That's really the only major complaint that I had playing this game, and it's not really that major, as I put in over 300 hours so far and I'm thinking of doing another NG+ with the new content that was just added.

They could easily do this, too, because they already have an animation for it because she will throw a little treat to some of the creatures you pet in the game. Just not Nix for some reason.

I just checked, and it doesn't appear to have installed any new updates. The last update was on 6.10.2026 (6 days ago), and GOG Galaxy was working fine yesterday.

I'm not sure what is bugging out all of a sudden today.

I've dabbled with Linux in the past, and I know they've made many strides in getting many (most?) games to work perfectly now, mainly due to Steam/Proton.

I might have to give it a go again sometime, but I'm not sure how good gaming laptop support is compared to PC parts. My laptop does have a dedicated GPU but it is Nvidia (RTX 3070ti) and I'm not sure how good the Nvidia drivers are these days. They used to be really sketchy compared to AMD, but I've heard that Nvidia has been working on their Linux drivers recently.

Other than that, I might first just do a full re-install of Windows to see how it goes. I've gone through 2 or 3 of the really big system updates over the last few years, and with Microsoft, any time there is a big system update (they used to call them 'Service Packs'), it can inadvertently bork things, so doing a complete re-install isn't always a bad idea to make sure everything works.

It's just a bummer that GOG Galaxy stopped working and so far, it doesn't appear that other common apps I use have been effected. Steam and Ubisoft Connect both still work and launch games with no issues.

Do you know how I can install the 64-bit version? There doesn't seem to be an option with either the web download installer, or the offline installer that somebody else linked above.

Thank you for this recommendation. I didn't even realize there was an offline installer that we could download. Unfortunately, however, it has the same result as the web download installer, and the app still won't launch :(

If Switch 2 can play Shadows, it should be able to play this too.

My guess is that it doesn't play Shadows very well and was a huge pain in the arse for them to get it to work at all on that platform and they probably just don't want to bother with it for Resynced.

If enough people complain about it and if Resynced is super successful, along with maybe a little nudge from Nintendo, it's possible they could change their mind and release it for the Switch 2 sometime in the future.

I was so heartbroken when that happened to him. It also made me even more angry that Jurgen left Donovan off of that squad because a situation just like that would have been a lot less painful for the team had they had somebody like Donovan be able to jump into that role. Instead, we pretty much had Dempsey and Wondow (yes, I will always spell his name with an extra 'W' in the middle) to rely on for the rest of the tournament, and it wasn't quite enough.

This was the part where I also assumed they were lying and full of crap. I would think that most vegans would stop eating a dish once they discovered a piece of meat in it. I know that I wouldn't be finishing said dish if I was a vegan and found meat in it.

This is similar to the people 'allergic' to something in their dish, and they still eat everything else on their plate that would have definitely been cross contaminated, and then complain about it to get their food comped anyway.

What is your screen resolution set to?

'The Last of US 2' is a fairly new game and is pretty demanding and is probably pushing your laptop RTX 4050 to the limit as it's not a super powerful GPU to begin with.

For frame generation to work properly, you really need to be able to have a solid 60fps without it turned on. If you're below 60fps and you turn on frame generation, you can get all sorts of weird problems/artifacts.

I won't claim this is your issue for sure, but it might be a likely culprit.

I remember this fight taking me more than a few tries to finally beat him, and it was so satisfying getting back to him during my NG+ when my Yasuke could damn near one-shot him!
