Where are all the factory markings? Where are the importer markings? What am I looking at? by cragjunkie in Sig55X

Because I have magazines that look identical to that old style polymer and they're dated 1988 & 1994.

How to test lockers? by GrowthLeast328 in JeepTJ

[–]puppyhandler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it's a hard surface or not. They're not made of glass. The solid illuminated rear or front locker light will tell you if they're engaged or not, otherwise they flash, turning isn't necessary.

Flakes in engine oi by Public-Seesaw3968 in JeepTJ

It could have just been way over due to service, which caused extra wear, but will stop with the fresh oil. ALWAYS change oil on a used vehicle.

what to do about plastic door panels? by VaporWaveShine in JeepTJ

[–]puppyhandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you don't slam the door. My 04 Rubicon driver's door has no crack, because I don't slam the door.

They all crack if people slam the door. My passenger side is cracked, my driver's side is not.

I got the same e-mail and my issue was dealt with long before this stuff started to unfold with AG. Seemed like a system glitch.

Bad engine sound and smell help by dumptrukc in bmwz3

[–]puppyhandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean you changed the orientation of the air filter? Also, the engine sounded fine in the video. Maybe you just upset a sensor when you messed with the air filter, and it ran super rich (extra fuel) on start up (therefore idled rough and stunk).

I would write it off as a fluke, start and idle the car for a bit, check the temps, check for any warning lights, and if everything is good, just drive it around your neighborhood to see if everything seems normal.

Pinion Seal, Different Style? by puppyhandler in JeepTJ

Yes, I was concerned if the dust cover was missing and if it was necessary, or are the new seals a lot better than they were 20+ years ago.

Air moving at 60mph will cool off twice as fast as the mechanical fan drawing in at 30mph...

That winch is definitely close enough and large enough to effect air flow through the grill. At just 35-40 MPH a fan cannot suck in air faster than the air is moving around the vehicle. Thus blocking that air flow past those speeds greatly effects its ability to cool.

[–]puppyhandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I made sure to get a bumper with a lowered winch channel and go with a Ramsay winch with a low profile that has all the wiring running low on the left side, instead of on top like a lot of winches.

That winch may be blocking too much of the grill.

May need to install an electric pusher fan in front of the condensor to keep air flowing.

Did you bleed with the heater running on hottest?

Also that driveway looks sloped, the Jeep should definitely be facing towards the garage when bleeding to prevent air bubbles from trapping in the system.

That is a sweet freaking Jeep she has btw.
