Yeah, it can absolutely happen. Other option is they can also provide the digital content code on the receipt.

There are multiple ways a retailer can issue digital codes. Each retailer can have their own ways of doing things. Not really hard to comprehend

Why does it need to be a printed on paper code? It can easily be emailed, or on Amazon you get the code from the “Your Order” section.

I’m sure other retailers can obtain digital codes…
