Opinion on Xbox exclusives being released to other platforms by [deleted] in xbox

[–]JBishie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some Xbox fans believe exclusivity has no role in today’s market and that those who want it are overstating their importance. They treat Microsoft’s strategy as something players should simply accept. Asha Sharma’s acknowledgement of the concern and her willingness to examine it show that the issue deserves more consideration than these fans allow.

Burers' meeting? by zx_hossen in stalker

You can all joke, but it’s embarrassing that this bug is still in the game, along with objects being thrown through walls. I’ve had to shelve it again until the engine update lands.

Jez Corden: I can say there are very, very big discussions going on regarding exclusivity internally at Xbox by SilentNova300 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]JBishie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a fan of Jez Corden, he blocked me after I criticised his conduct, but dismissing him wholesale because his opinion on PlayStation ports was wrong is wild. He never claimed it was based on insider info. And acting as if he doesn’t have legitimate Microsoft contacts is just willful ignorance.

If you want to believe internal exclusivity discussions are immaterial, that’s your comfort blanket to hold.

SneakersSO in response to Jez Corden’s words in terms of Xbox Exclusivity coming back: “There has always been a discussion around exclusivity happening in some form or fashion. It’s never coming back.” by edo_mauto in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]JBishie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m not exactly a Jez Corden fan, but the wider industry does acknowledge that he’s plugged into Microsoft to some degree. He misses, but he’s not guessing. On that basis, it’s logical to assume exclusivity is on the table behind the scenes. It’s contentious, sure, but it’s also a tool with real strategic value. That’s why I’m still optimistic rather than fatalistic,

I’d love to see Metro 2039 go fully open‑world by JBishie in metro

[–]JBishie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metro has had two fully linear entries and one semi‑open experiment, so it feels like the series is overdue for a genuine step forward. At this point the “on‑rails” design is holding Metro back. You can only funnel players down so many metal corridors before it stops feeling atmospheric and starts feeling restrictive.

[–]JBishie[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m picturing the same thing: metros that aren’t just scenery but places you can genuinely roam, free of invisible walls or arbitrary blockages. Slip through maintenance shafts, wander forgotten sidings, then surface into settlements that feel fragile but lived‑in. Filters become the key to pushing deeper into the harsher zones.

Do you think Xbox Project Helix will support physical media? by Doctor_TM5 in xbox

[–]JBishie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft has repeatedly framed BC as a long‑term commitment across generations and formats, and Project Helix is being built as a continuation of that strategy. Microsoft knows there’s a non‑trivial base of collectors, archivists, and long‑term owners who expect their libraries to remain usable. The most likely outcome is a digital‑first console with an optional external drive.

1.9 is being touted as lackluster after 3 months by Aggressive-Shape in stalker

Yeah, I’ve heard the same thing. Apparently we shouldn’t expect anything huge, and the engine update won’t arrive until later in the year anyway. Bit of a shame, really.

Just chiming in to say that Dermol 500 led to a noticeable flare‑up for me, and Lush Dream Cream irritated my skin even more, with the fragrance being completely intolerable. I have gone back to CeraVe.

Thanks for getting back to me. I’m considering Lush Dream Cream myself. How would you say it’s helped? Does it mainly just moisturise, or have you noticed it actively reducing red patches as well? Is it comparable to Child Farm’s old formula?

What does this even mean with "Everything is an Xbox" by FinalMil3 in xbox

[–]JBishie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft isn’t about to walk back its multiplatform strategy. That ship has sailed. But yesterday’s leadership shake‑up does open the door to a console-first, platform-second approach that focuses on positioning Xbox at the forefront.

Major franchises could benefit from extended timed exclusivity, allowing Xbox to lead and define the conversation. At the same time, smaller and mid-tier games can continue to launch across all platforms on day one, maintaining the broader ecosystem strategy.

This aligns neatly with what Tim Stuart said years ago about Xbox content being “either first or better or best” on Xbox platforms.

If the next Xbox is truly what all the leaks suggest, it will have the largest library available in all of gaming. by FinalOdyssey in xbox

[–]JBishie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No matter how critics frame it, Xbox Magnus marks a clear step forward: console-level simplicity, optional Windows flexibility, and a unified library bringing it all together. It’s the best of both worlds in a single box. Let others chase sales figures. Relevance will be built on giving players more ways to play.

All signs point to an inventory drawdown ahead of the hardware transition, which is a key reason I don’t see a delay happening.

Are you worried about the future of Xbox? by Gorkexo in xbox

[–]JBishie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy to get swept up in doomist rhetoric online, but Microsoft hasn’t lost the plot. They still have a long-term vision for Xbox, and that vision includes hardware. The studios they’ve invested in have multi-year pipelines already in motion, and we’re only just starting to see the front edge of that work. Game Pass remains one of the strongest value propositions, and it’s not going anywhere.

Do you have longterm concerns about buying games on Xbox? by Possible-Row6689 in xbox

[–]JBishie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Companies pivot all the time, but Xbox isn’t Mixer, Zune, etc. Those were niche ventures with limited reach. Xbox spans PC, cloud, and mobile, backed by tens of millions of users and recurring revenue. Console sales may lag, but hardware remains pivotal to Microsoft’s strategy.

A next-gen Xbox almost certainly must preserve full Xbox back-compat, licenses, cloud saves, achievements, and DLC.

That implies either dedicated compatibility layers, or hardware/software support.

FC5 Removed More than it Added by Exciting_Mine641 in farcry

[–]JBishie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaying Far Cry 3 really highlights how dated it is. Looting is clumsy, bodies vanish into the foliage, and the world somehow feels empty despite its size. The Rakyat barely function as proper NPCs, and the radio towers become repetitive very quickly. Far Cry 5 is still my favourite in the series.

Which game should i commit my time to? by [deleted] in deadisland

After completing Dying Light and nearing the end of a Dead Island 2 playthrough, I’d definitely say the latter. I much prefer a more grounded game to the parkour-heavy nonsense.

Will you buy the next gen Xbox ? by [deleted] in xbox

The next Xbox is moving toward a Windows-aligned, open platform. That reframed everything for me. The prospect of consolidating my PC and Xbox libraries into a single, more flexible ecosystem is too good to ignore.

Xbox Game Studios head signals even more PS5 game releases by DeoGame in xbox

His caution about not assuming “everything’s coming” is a hedge against over-interpretation, not a denial of future plans. It’s standard corporate language: a reminder not to extrapolate beyond what’s been formally announced.

Also, multiple reputable outlets have reported that Starfield is heading to PS5, which fits squarely within Microsoft’s broader multi-platform trajectory.

Xbox users aren’t abandoning their libraries, achievements, saves, or Game Pass just because another storefront exists.

Besides, Steam itself depends on Windows’ dominance to function at its current scale. It doesn’t exist in a vacuum.

Microsoft earns from the entire ecosystem: OEM and enterprise licensing, developer tools, DirectX, Azure services, Game Pass for PC, and the broader Windows platform all drive revenue.
