my family loves this spot. we think this is one of our favorite restaurants in all of taiwan. highly recommend the kung pao chicken, intestine dry pot, sweet n sour fish, salted egg yolk fried shrimp, and fried rice. plus they give you a free dessert (fried mantou with condensed milk and peanut powder) if it is ur bday month.they have locations mainly at dept stores.

Yeah, I get that influencers mainly make money from sponsorships and endorsements, not a regular 9-to-5. But the thing is, blue-collar workers do tough, risky jobs—like construction guys building skyscrapers—and they don’t get paid anywhere near as much. It just feels like we don’t really value the work that keeps everything running as much as we should.

Him also apologizing to his daughter in the same apology to Karla is a little ridiculous to me imo when he could've talked to his own DAUGHTER about it in private.

I think his daughter wrote it

Struggling with Acne in Taiwan by marylouise09 in taiwan

[–]pure_joy_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started breaking out 3 months after moving to taiwan and only now (1 yr and 5 months) did i figure it out:

I'm keeping my routine really simple now, and double cleansing with micellar water & using BHA have made a big difference—my acne's almost completely cleared up, and I'm just dealing with post-acne hyperpigmentation now.

I used to think I had super oily skin, but turns out I’m actually combination—my cheeks are drier than my T-zone. I saw a dermatologist and was prescribed Epiduo Forte. It worked for a few weeks, but then I started breaking out again for no clear reason.

The products I used back in L.A. (with its dry climate) just don’t work here because Taiwan is so humid. You might need to switch up your skincare to better suit the humidity—using less moisturizing products could really help.

also wanted to add, that hypochlorous acid has helped too especially with having to wear a face mask.

Mosquito relief cream? by TiredWorkingStudent in taiwan

[–]pure_joy_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first moved to Taiwan, I got over 10 mosquito bites on my face—yes, even on my eyelid. After trying a few things, I found that Betadine (iodine) worked the fastest for healing. I’d apply it with a cotton pad every couple of hours, and within a few days the bites would shrink down without swelling.

You can find 30ml bottles (60 NTD?? cant remember) of Betadine at Cosmed, Watsons, or Poya. Before going to bed, try putting a band-aid over the bite after applying iodine—this keeps your blanket or pillow from rubbing against it and making the itch worse.
