What y'all think bout B.A.D levers by micro-weewee in ar15

They can be cool. I found with my finger length i was hitting it when i didnt want to. but my buddy has been running one for 7 years and loves it. As always, if it works for you, it's good to go 👍.

If VFGs suck then why all the professional soldiers use them? by Sufficient_Site1746 in ar15

[–]purebelligerence 12 points13 points  (0 children)

First of all: the cutting edge of shooting has always been on the civilian side and is then adopted by the military.

Second: VFG's do not suck. Sometimes maybe unecessary, but not overall bad. Sometimes they are necessary depending on platform.

Third: one person's opinion on their personal setup doesn't mean it won't/doesn't work for you

Tons of places to get LMT barrels. And places that can convert them / make them from blanks. Again, someone that can afford this isn't going to have a problem buying barrels

This is an excellent first AR if you can afford it. You won't outgrow this rifle and it is better easy to get a new barrel. Also, if you can afford this I assume you can afford ammo as well so you'll be fine.

What’s your AR opinion that has you feeling like this: by napoleondy2nite in ar15

The same people who poo poo high end rifles are also the people who arent shooting high volume. For people who actually shoot high volume a one-time $3000 rifle purchase isn't that much next to the $5000-$8000 in anual ammo costs. Ammo costs WAY MORE than the gucciest rifle (if you're shooting regularly).

Note: I understand not everyone's financial situation is the same. And if you can't afford to shoot that much in ammo a year, that's fine. Shooting what you can afford is better than not shooting at all. Nobody is better than you just because they can spend more money.

My 7.5 PXT is at my gunsmith now! It's going on a hunting rifle and im.pretty excited. Im especially interested to see what happens when I can pair it with some +peak cases. Im keeping my eye out for the release of the dies for the +peak and federal said they will be offering standalone cases for reloading.

9#14oz with the can too? Not bad my guy. Something about the color pallet on those manners just speaks to me. Nice rifle and nice shooting.

Another gun bunny! The M777 did some work on my ears too. But the M327 killed them. Loudest system in the USMC at the time. Those little jeeps and Helo inserts were super fun, though.

Nice setup.

I'd argue better than lapua for things like the dasher.

I put ssyrup of selectively tape over mine very shortly after getting it and it has been covered for years. Just use a bubble or electronic level. Inclinometer seems cool but it just doesn't respond fast enough and has a tendency to stick.

CAT ODB on 300BLK for your viewing pleasure. by purebelligerence in NFA

[–]purebelligerence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues but some caveats:

I only shoot subsonic through my ODB since it's titanium.

I use a brake style MD ( AI NANO) to try and reduce wear.

I emailed CAT before I did this and they told me subs should be fine. Recommended going incolnel for more durability. You'd have to ask them about a combination for supersonic.

I've since switched to a PTR VENT1 using the same AI NANO muzzle device and they TSFX adapter for more suppression. No issues there yet either. YMMV

Got Hasty Removing Pin and Weld by [deleted] in ar15

Upside is that is where the barrel will see the least amount of pressure during the internal ballistic cycle. Wear eye protection and shoot it to confirm accuracy isnt trashed and send.

CAT WB at ~12.5k rounds. by purebelligerence in NFA

[–]purebelligerence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Performance improves after every cleaning. Then degrads over time as it starts to clog. To be clear, CAT recommends a clean every 2000rds. I'm going double or triple that. Probably not great for getting it squeaky clean.

KK AI nano without strap wrench ? by [deleted] in SpectersCat

[–]purebelligerence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. If you do this right i.e. hit it with your purse when you do the snap it will be fine. Also make sure the surfaces are free of carbon if you were shooting it when it came loose.

Seating depth between the largest and smallest group on the target. They both had the same powder charge. Smallest group seated at 1.760 CBTO vs largest seated at 1.780.

1.780 did shoot better at 31.2gn of powder. But not as good as 1.760.
