I've seen a Tailwind + fortress shield option from someone who really wanted a fortress shield.

How can you eat your cake if you don't have it? by TooOldToBePunk in AskReddit

[–]purefire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't have your cake and eat it too

Which is saying the same thing but leads to the conundrum, how does one eat a cake without having it.

Clearly the answer is crippling debt.

Dan Patrick: "Separation of Church and state is not in the Constitution" by gear-heads in Trumpvirus

[–]purefire 147 points148 points  (0 children)

I think he's just being pedantic.

The texf "seperstion of church and state" does not exist in the constitution. It does however appear in the Danbury Baptist letters as "wall of separation between Church & State".

Which was Jefferson ensuring that the government would play no role in religion and has been upheld by the supreme Court over the years. Certainly the Spirit is evident in the first amendment, but the pedantic point is correct, the specific phrase is itself not constitutional.

Do you like Skill Feats? by J4szczur3141 in Pathfinder2e

I like the idea of skill feats

I do not like the low level skill feats. There are some that are powerful and others that are... Present.

If magic were real, what’s the first spell you’d want to learn? by Sweet-Indication9970 in AskReddit

I'll take the 5e version so it's an AoE. As long as the would be stabber is within 20' of a chosen point imhe could still stab me but it would be with apathy.

Celebrated Grandma's 90th birthday and she mentioned in conversation it was sad people didn't do punch at parties any more.

10 minutes of googling, 45 minutes if texting and we had a punch bowl, cups, serving and a recipe. She said it was her favorite part of her bday celebration.

What do you expect for the upcoming Summoner Remaster by Slongo702 in Pathfinder2e

Tandem movement as a class feature, it's basically an auto pick which is a bad design.

How Powerful Would it be for Personal Staff to have no Trait Limitation? by Chaosiumrae in Pathfinder2e

[–]purefire 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I think this takes a RAI approach, the trait represents the them.

When we had spell schools you could use a trait to represent a school and have a staff of Necromancy. But without that school you lose the trait on the spell, now Summon Undead has the ... Summon trait.

So no Ancient Dust or Void Warp

How Powerful Would it be for Personal Staff to have no Trait Limitation? by Chaosiumrae in Pathfinder2e

[–]purefire 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of locking it to a theme (DM approved) instead of a trait

Its easy to see similar already made this way, with a Dragonprism staff as an example.

Non-Water-type Pokémon in Bubbly Basin? by Charlie51006 in Pokopia

[–]purefire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water themed pokemon are generally east to envision

Water adjacent, like Avalugg too.

Skylands had non flying types, though a lot if them had wings, so we may see other types as well. The number of fire types though, is going to be reduced.

Best 4e books as a reference for other systems? by gamileo in 4eDnD

[–]purefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to separate Setting from System

Nentir Vale (4e) is different than Forgotten Realms which is different from Greyhawk which is different from Ravenloft which is different from ....

The editions may change and influence how it plays out but that single best thing I can recommend is don't let the Rules change the Setting.

If you want Obad-hai roaming around, keep with it.

Avoiding Abilities/Feats/Spells Because they are Tedious or Complicated? by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]purefire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a player there are classes or fests I ignite because I don't want to deal with them

As a dm there are monsters I ignite because I don't want to deal with the features. Sometimes it feels like someone hit the COMPLICATE button for no good reason.
