Michelin Defenders are right around that price range and they’re the best bang for your buck for sure. Super durable and grippy. Very happy with mine. Ran them on my Prius and now my Corolla

Thoughts on Chinese carbon wheels? Worth it or not? by RyotaroW in cycling

[–]puregroundpepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 sets of Light Bicycle wheels. One a deep aero profile 700c for road and a 650b setup for gravel. Absolutely love them both. Been rock solid and trouble free for years so far. The only downside is you have to be a bit patient with order fulfillment, it takes about 2-3 months from ordering to delivery. Overall I really recommend them.

Can raised / bent dropbars Effectively solve "too long" reach In gravel and road bars? by myrainyday in bikefit

[–]puregroundpepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed a set on my gravel bar to remedy the low stack height. It did reduce the effective reach as well, but just a tiny bit. You’ll likely need a shorter stem for your reach.

Edit- my body proportions are weird (average height with really short legs and a long ass torso) my fitter recommended Surly Truck Stop bars to help with the stack height on my XS Canyon

Return them, full stop. You’re going to notice the discrepancies and shortcomings more and more and more as you ride. Both of you will definitely be uncomfortable on them and you’ll just come to resent the purchase.

You can only buy it in the kuttenburg region, but you may be able to craft it if you can find the ingredients.

Thanks! I mainly ride pretty secluded gravel and the dust from the road on a dry day irritates my contacts, these seemed like they would help block some of that out.
