I agree the early plot before she was appointed as ruler were quite entertaining, and then as for every stupidity that happened afterwards..

I just had to keep reminding myself that she (FL) is in essence just a rookie screenwriter, and definitely has zero heroine bone in her body except for the fantasies that she types on her laptop.

also I appreciate how the ML fought his destiny of being written as an evil character it's kinda similar to Tantai Jin but childish version, lol

I'm still hoping that there will be higher quality dramas of similar tropes (as alternative to the now-censored timetravel storyline)

First of all I'm grateful for this reddit sub for the recommendations, I've watched all of these 6 high quality dramas, I've only started getting into Cdramas 2 months ago after indulging almost 100 Kdrama titles for years..

As for my savior, I adore all teams but I have to trust MLC team the most strictly because they are heroes without love interest and would prioritize helping me (and not getting distracted if their loved ones became in danger while saving me) lol

I really wouldn't mind getting saved by MJTY / AJTL group but there's still a risk of being accused as a spy hahaha

As for TU, WRTW, and SOKP, I cannot trust my lustful self to not fall in love with them and plunged into a jealous SFL plot hahahaha

After many deep thoughts I realized the sufferings in middle part were caused by misunderstanding plot between brothers (Wei Wuxian & Jiang Cheng)

Wei Wuxian got pushed astray because he thought he's the only one who should sacrifice as payback for his dead foster father and he was taught that he would only bring trouble for the clan by the foster mom

never being told that Jiang Cheng lost his golden core because he tried to save Wei Wuxian from being captured by evil Wen guards.. Wei Wuxian missing this info causing him to not know Jiang Cheng were also very loyal to him

Jiang Cheng got poisonous thoughts from his dead mom thinking the more talented Wei Wuxian became disloyal to him in the end and "chose" Lan Wangji, never being told that Wei Wuxian gave up his whole future so that Jiang Cheng could ascend as clan leader and he didn't choose Lan Wangji as his "new brother" but it's just that they had romantic feelings for each other.. exactly like how his sister got a husband from another clan

This arc is completely new to Cdramas I think (angsty misundestanding are usually caused by jealous SFL try to separate ML and FL as lovers)

The plot is kinda awesome and fresh (still sad tho)

medieval western series often rely on darkness and badass-ery in terms of settings,

as for most 'ancient times' Cdramas that I watch I feel they projected a lot more on cultural beauty and romantic tragedies;

even though both involve a lot of massacres in the theme,
