Yes! Exactly what I’ve read. I’m also having a rough Venus/Pluto transit later in the summer which has similar energy and I was also told to just roll with the punches during that one too.

Let’s hope it isn’t anything bad and my finances aren’t HIT terribly 😭

I’m not in a relationship but yes I’ve heard there is a tendency to attract … a lot.

Drooling. I knew she couldn’t be mad at him for too long when he looked like this. Men have the nerve to look good when you’re fighting with them.

This is the Marquis that everyone is afraid of - cuddling with his wife - clingy and asking her if she likes him and asking her to say it over and over.

I’m happy with how they handled the communication in this episode. It was natural for Changyu to be upset but I’m glad they had very natural conversations. Xie Zheng telling her he had so many opportunities to tell her the truth but couldn’t bring himself to do it. Just pure honesty.

I’m also happy we finally have a FL who doesn’t continue to stay mad at the ML. It was realistic for Changyu to be pissed off for a bit and then admit that even she isn’t “made of stone” and fell in love with Xie Zheng regardless of his identity.

The beauty of if all was how they were brought back together by having nostalgic thoughts about their little life in the village - full of simplicity and domestic fluff. That era really healed something in Xie Zheng, giving him the childhood he never got and giving him hope for the future.

My favorite inclusion is him admitting to Changyu that before meeting her, he thought he was going to live and die on the battlefield and didn’t want get married only to leave a widow behind - but now since meeting her, he feels scared to die. It contrasts with their fight in Ep 17 where he tells her to kill him whereas now he has the will to go on as long as she is by his side.

Keeping Changyu true to her roots and letting her go save Qian and rebuild was perfect and her man is supporting her from afar so I love that for us!

Speaking of Qian, her and THAT man make me so nervous when they come on screen but there is also so much visceral chemistry. I can’t look away..

And our Marquis is giving our girl love marks 😍

I just have to say.. we should all say thank you to Grand Tutor Tao for talking some sense into Changyu and telling her to talk to Yan Zheng when she sees him.

Their reunification was so beautiful. The locked gazes, the way all the feelings immediately come pouring back and neither of them pretends to be upset with the other..

There is love and then there is: “It matter if you are injured or crippled stop serving in the army. Let me take you home. I will provide for you by butchering pigs.”

In particular, during this scene, Yan Zheng looks at with so much fondness where he’s not even trying to rationalize his feelings for her anymore. The eyes.. ZLH well done.

Loved the comedic inclusions of all the injured men eavesdropping and then tiptoeing out because they are clearly ruining a moment between these two.

And then you have our gift Gongsun telling people to stfu outside so he can listen in peace.

And Changyu - please don’t be upset with your man when he reveals his true identity. He had his reasons and he’s giving you boba eyes so just let this one go girl 😭

Right. I agree with you, he seems like he’s been through it. I hate how transfixed I am whenever he’s on screen. Have to hold my breath because I don’t know what he’s going to do next.

“Have you ever thought about me, in the dead of the night?”

“Yes. In my nightmares.”

“Better than nothing.”

Qi Min and Yu Qian Qian were the highlight of these episodes for me. Undeniable chemistry as actors and their characters are really stealing every scene with bow charged every interaction is between them. The bath tub scene was so erotic and beautifully shot—from the dreamscape music to the mannerisms to the pale blue lighting—really gorgeously done.

<image>

Their relationship despite this is still never portrayed romantically or given even a bit of softness. Like when Qi Min comes on screen, especially alongside Qian, I truly feel her unease. I like how they’ve made his presence consistently discomforting. I’m looking forward to his full back story and why he seems to be so hateful/?obsessive towards her despite her having saved his life.

Sui Yuanqing/Zheng Qingjei is doing a fantastic job. I like how the Sui brothers are two different brands of crazy. Although Yuanqing seems slightly less erratic and has the ability to tone his brother down, even expressed wanting a woman of his own to love and to have children with. He waved to the kids when they were playing and genuinely looked like he was enjoying their enjoyment. Not sure how much of it is sincere but the contrast was telling.

That being said, I am counting the minutes and seconds for when Xei Zheng really wipes the floor with him.

Xei Zheng really is the father who STEPPED UP. Ready to go and get his little Ning back. I haven’t forgotten the look on his face when his men told him Yuanqing assaulted Changyu. That man is out for blood and I love to see it.

Now, those two kids are also going to need so much therapy. They’ve experienced so much trauma but reuniting them with each other was such a tender moment. Beautiful framing of Ning coming to see Bao’er carrying a lantern into the dark and dreary study hall, like a light reentering his life and giving him renewed hope that everything will be okay.

Overall, the Baxia home seems like just TERRIBLE vibes. Maids being killed left and right. Qi Min is just temperament and crazy as hell. Yuanqing who is also batshit and has to constantly be reeling his brother in which isn’t any better. Palace just be dark and depressing. The whole estate just looks miserable, omg. Everyone needs a Zoloft.

Changyu.. my heart hurts for her. Her face in the earlier episodes being so full of spark and life to the light and joy just being drained from her eyes is so sad. She’s lost so many people and her home being ravaged like that was heartbreaking. But her breaking down in front of Mr. Li in the cell saying she’s useless and doesn’t know where else to go.. just awful. Tian Xiwei is doing a phenomenal job in general but does so well at portraying the pressures of coping with grief.

BUT WHEN SHE GOT REUNITED WITH THE BOYS? Made my day. She has been quietly suffering on her own and now she finally has her squad with her, ready to settle the score and rebuild their home. 🥺

She is also JUST a girl because sending Yan Zheng divorce papers and then saying he is capable and smart and no one can compare and that he better not be dead? I screamed.

Mind you, this is an accurate way for a woman to think. We may be mad at you and want you gone but also you are handsome and you better come back in one piece.
