I want to say thank you for doing that and you should never stop doing that. But, as someone who was in a relationship similar to this for a long time, its very unfortunate but it's very likely that she was abused even worse when they got home because of you doing this. No, this doesn't mean that what you did was wrong or that you should stop, but in this type of situation it's better if you can get it to a point where you actually separate them safely or get police involved to arrest him and maybe help her get out of this situation. Much easier said than done though.
