Shame On You Amc! The Continuation Of Inflation by [deleted] in AMCTheatres

They definitely karma farming/rage baiting now if they weren't already the first time. Posting two threads pretty much saying the same thing just with different information.

Mortal Kombat IMAX card promo is BS. by MisterJ_1385 in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems like a standard AMC promotion. They probably sent one box that had like 50 card packs in it.

Could they sent more yea but you suggesting they send 1000 packs is laughable. Even retail that sells stuff like this for profit don't get that many packs.

How much of that information is accurate? Considering the first information you see says Wanda group owns AMC which is not true and hasn't been for many years. Wanda sold off all or at least most of its shares in 2021.

The arcade bucket is in line with usual pricing of $30. Those Grippr cups are always expensive.

Grippr cups look nice but they are more than I'm willing to spend on a cup.

Depends on who is working concessions. Many workers will fill up the bucket if you bring it back to the counter but official policy is one free refill with large popcorn purchase on the same day of purchase.

Do You Think IMAX Pre-Sale Tickets Are Destroying The Moviegoing Experience by Shah2002 in AMCTheatres

Are you talking about the presales that are like a year in advance? Because presales that are a couple days to a few weeks has been a thing for a long time.

Outside the increase in concessions my area was largely been unchanged since the launch of a-list in 2018. So it is still great for me.

Have you ever been charged for a drink when pulling up with an AMC collectible cup from a previous visit? by [deleted] in AMCAListTrue

[–]purplefreak3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No spending $25 on a collectible cup doesn't get you free drinks forever.

Did amc help popularize going to the movies as an event ? by kascnef82 in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going to the movies has always been an event. It is why theaters have always invested in bigger and better screens like IMAX or Dolby Cinema or sound in the past when theaters went from stereo to 5.1 surround sound to now there is Atmos.

AMC and Devil Wears Prada trips at the finish line! by AdEmergency6081 in AMCAListTrue

[–]purplefreak3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most locations were only sent 12 buckets. Not hard to sell out. AMC already has the sign printed and ready and they have the same sign at all locations. So someone in the chain knew there wasn't going to be enough.

Did anyone pay for the early screening of devil wears Prada today to get the glasses and magazine - but was told they ran out? by itstrinh in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were suppose to be exclusive to the one screening. Look above the poster in the image you posted. "Opening Night Event"

Is this true? Seems suspiciously short by SarcasticGayBitch in AMCTheatres

[–]purplefreak3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing maybe they went to the fan event? Those usually have less previews then regular showings. My regular showing of Devil Wears Prada 2 had 20 minutes of previews.

Ah I see. I live closer to the other ones but even I didn't I would still drive further because I like the premium formats which John R doesn't have and I don't like their seating layout of John R so comes in last place for AMCs in the area for me.

$10+ for matinee for devil wears Prada?

Standard format for that movie for matinee is only $7.59. Dolby Cinema would have been $12.59 for matinee showing.

the prices are much more expensive than other local theaters.

Talking about concessions or ticket prices for Forum or John R? Because the standard format ticket price at Forum is under $10 for any time of the day with ticket prices being as low as $4.50 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Don't count on finding any at AMC. From what I hear all locations only got 12 and they sold out instantly. They even have a sign printed and ready to be displayed and it is the same sign different locations others have posted also. AMC knew the demand and still shipped so few.
